Blue Boy West Golf Course
About
Blue Boy West Golf Course in Monroe, Washington is a nine-hole course that is great practice for beginners but still challenging enough for more experienced players who are looking for a quick round. The tough but fair layout will test you with water on seven holes and several strategically placed bunkers throughout. You'll also come across a few tricky doglegs. This is a great layout for getting some practice with your irons, but your driver won't be getting much play. It's a true shot-maker's course with a variety of holes featuring uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Accuracy is the key to a low score. Blue Boy West Golf Course puts you to the test right away with a par 4 that has trees to the left and water to the right.

Great course for women!
Great course for women or for people learning how to play the game. No crowds, no time pressure. Beautiful course, and beautiful scenery. Excellent course to practice your short game!
Great course, excellant staff
I have played the course about 10 times. The greens are very well maintained and the staff are very friendly. It is an interesting and challenging course. However, it is also great for beginners. The landscaping is beautiful and the setting is quite tranquil.
Golf was great, staff could be better
my only issue is that the front desk attendant was very short and rude when I came into the club house just a couple minutes before my tee time. My issue is that there was only a couple golfers on the course at the time and no one was no one behind me for a good 20 minutes plus so I am not sure why he was irritated with me.. this is not the first time I have not had a pleasant experience from this particular club house worker.
Hidden Gem
This course was nice for the price. $13 to play as much as you want. Mind you they only have 9 holes so you would be repeating. But he course is well taken care of. Greens are trimmed beautifully, tee boxes have a lot of sand in them so it's a little tough to find a good spot to tee up. Course really only has 2 holes to use your driver on (7 & 8). If you can play a fade you will definitely be able to drive 6 but you have a row of trees to clear. All in all, great course and would recommend
Blue boy
It was a fun little 9 hole course, it was challenging because it made you make shots. Over all I enjoyed playing there and being it's only a few miles from the house I'll play again.
Target Golf At Its Best
I was looking for a course that is closer to home (I live in Monroe) that I could practice dialing in my 150 and in game. Not only does Blue Boy fit this need to a T, but it also has some killer early morning rates via Golf Now. For $10, plus the usual fees, I was able to get an all you can play pass for the day. The 9 hole course is challenging since the greens are pretty small, but don't expect too much trouble on this one. There is water on 6 holes, but most of it really doesn't come into play. Keep the woods in the bag and enjoy a round of target golf with your irons.
My advice is to get here about 45 minutes early and putt for about 10-15 minutes, then chip a bit. After that, Get loose in the swing cages before you hit the tee box. Unless you are one of those people that are ready to take that first hack on the first tee with perfect results, you'll want to loosen up just a touch.
From there, stick to the fairways, and if you enjoy playing in the sand at all, bring an old wedge. The "bunkers" are loaded with playground sand and there are plenty of rocks just waiting to take a chunk of your new $150 wedges. That said, the fairways and rough were surprisingly rock free - which I will give the crew at Blue Boy credit for! The course played pretty great for how wet it's been and how damp/cold it was this morning.
Overall, definitely staying on my playing rotation!
good place for practice
Blue boy golf course is somewhat far from Seattle but it has good holes for beginner's practice.
Great course for wet conditions
Checked other courses around the area and modt said pretty muddy with either temporary tees or greens.
Blue Boy West had temporary tees but the greens were in pretty good shape. Spots of water and mud around the course but it turned out to be a great round. It wasn't crowded as I think most golfers stayed away because of the recent weather. All in all it was a great day and the course was in pretty good shape for the recent conditions. The people here are trying really hard to run a great Golf Course with what they have to work with. I am really glad we went.
Confused!
Made a tee time for 8am on a Saturday. When we got there they had a tournament scheduled for all day. Couldn't find anyone to help us, and when we did find a lady to help she was extremely rude.
Doesn't seem like the course is linked to GolfNow, or at least the staff has no idea what is going on.
Not a bad little course
Course was muddy in places, especially along the right side of the fairway on hole 1, but that is expected this time of year. Greens were in good shape, just a little slower than I am used to. There were no par 5's, but a few challenging par 4's. Not a long course, but some pretty fun holes. I did not care for the bush in the middle of the green on number 2.
fun little course
Been meaning to get out to this course for awhile and glad I did. Very walkable, well maintained, and great staff. Greens had just been aerated so was unable to rate greens. Good value through Golf Now. Will definitely be making a return visit.
Hole#1 is a brute !
Fun golf course, hole #1 is really tough with water right and trees left. Expect some funny bounces on this hole. Par is a great score. Hole #2 is a par 3 with a planter in the middle of it, but features a free drop if your ball goes there. After the first two holes the golf course becomes straight forward. Never needed to hit driver. Tee off with hybrids and maybe a 3 wood to keep it in play. This is a shot makers course.
Hidden Jewel
First visit to Blue Boy West. Found the course delightful. Well maintained, surprisingly challenging. Six 300 yard (give or take) holes made this course fun to play. Course is very nicely landscaped with small ponds, water features, and both greens and fairways in good shape. This is a great choice for golfers of all abilities. The kind of course that deserves support.
Great value
First time out on this course, and we will be back. Course is very short, and is a nine hole. Purchased deal on golfnow for $10 per player for unlimited golf, though we only played 18. Only took about 2 and 1/2 hrs to play, lots of fun!
Summer showers, empty course
With only 4 cars in the lot we knew it would be a private course for us. Not a Private club as Blue Boy West is built on a horse ranch, with many of the barns and stables still in use for golf. The value was excellent and the staff are like family. Many tricky holes with water and doglegs which keep the driver in the bag.
Not Your Typical Layout
Kinda hilly, kinda funky, but still a lot of fun. Just don't take your round too seriously. The greens don't roll true so expect your putts to "wobble" around as they head toward the hole - some taking completely unexpected (and unexplainable) turns. Also, I tried two different power carts and neither seemed to have much in the way of brakes, but at least I really built up my leg muscles trying to stop the cart on some of the steep hills. The starter said all of the carts were that way - just the way they were designed. I don't actually buy that explanation.
