Nice relaxed course
Beacon Rock is a nice course that is good for beginners and fun for golfers with a little more skills. It is relaxed and not "overly uppity". The staff is beyond friendly. Great place and we will play again
Nice 9 holer
Some would say this course has character, others would say it needs TLC.
Overall, it is a decent layout for 9 holes. Nice combo of tight and open holes. While the majority of the course had average conditions, the greens all were quite nice.
# 4 is very quirky hole...par 5 of 390 from white tees, then when you switch to blues it is a par 4? It is a very tight a curving hole, hard to describe unless you play it.
Course is a little rough
It’s hard to really capture the essence of this 9 hole course. Some fairways had small rolling hills all along which made the gas powered golf windshield bump steadily along the metal frame for 18 holes. This is definitely country golfing where large gravel trails amble their way alongside each fairway. Most of the greens have at least some crabgrass in a place or two. Played the course in 2 hours. Nice setting. Course maintenance could be better. Nice setting.
Tight fairways
Beautiful setting in the Columbia gorge. Some of the fairways are extremely tight, added to the pleasure of this course. Greens are a little rough, but great deal for the price.
Great Laid Back Course
This is a great place to play a laid back round of golf. Beautiful scenery and excellent friendly staff, at a good price. They also have a restaurant which I did not try but looked good and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this course for a fun day of golf.
Nice course
The staff was very friendly and helpful We played at 7:10 am, not 2:20 pm. The course was in fairly nice condition. Some of the greens were a little rough but overall a decent course. The value was excellent.
Hidden gem.
The most scenic course in the Pacific Northwest. A great place to play.
Perfect Morning
I played 18 holes here in the morning. It was a good challenge. The fairways are pretty narrow on some of the holes so it made it interesting even with some of the shorter distances.
I had a breakfast sandwich at the turn that was good and the staff was very welcoming.
I would recommend Beacon Rock.
Fun Day with Friendly People
Tee off at 9:30, right on time. Never rushed and never waited too long for next shot. Lunch on the turn was a daily special Fish & Chips. Very good!
$9 Round and Still Not Worth It!
The People: Very rude staff and locals who go out of their way to make you feel unwelcome.
The Course: Poorly maintained, downed trees covering the course, and the worst putting greens I've ever seen - chewed up w/ longer grass than fairways.
The low price brought me there, but after playing, even $9 was too much for what you get at Beacon Rock. Needless to say, we won't be back!
Easy pace
I went on a rainy day, but it was relaxing and played at my own pace. Gentlemen at the counter was helpful. A good time.
Special to me
My dad help build the scores back in the 60s/70s??? It is hometown and beloved to me. It used to be in immaculate condition but the last couple of years have gone downhill a bit. Still beautiful nine hole course with the second set of teeth for 18 and it reasonable rate.
Easy course with just enough danger to make it fun.
We played in early October. Course was dry with no soft areas. We almost had the course to ourselves. The greens don't have true green grass that most courses have. It looks like fescue or rye grass. It was mowed short and made for good putting.
We stopped at the turn and had lunch. Great food and the prices we very reasonable. Staff was great and friendly. My wife is a beginning golfer so this is a good course for her. Can't wait to go back.
fun, but culd use more maintenance
grass was long especially around the greens
Love it!
Awesome 9 -18 hole course. We love the fact that we can get to this golf course in minutes. Beautiful views and easy to book when we just want a quick 9 hole game. Everyone moves at an easy pace and east to walk if that is your preference .
Fredrick
A fun place to take your dog along with you for a bit of golf.
Beacon Rock Great for Leisurely Round
Played Beacon Rock for the first time. A nice course for a relaxed round. It was great for my son who is just learning to play. We were able to play at a relaxed pace. Stay on the beaten path though as we almost drove right over the top of a HUGE wasp nest looking for a golf ball in the rough on #4
Thank you for returning to play our course again on April 21st. We were glad to have you back so soon. Please accept my apology for any of our staff if they made you feel unwelcome. Our policy is quite the opposite. We thank all of our players for coming out to our course. Yes, conditions were less than we expect our crew to deliver but given the unique challenges of this record breaking winter we are doing our best. Snow covered the course for 8 weeks all the way into Spring. During that period there was an Ice Storm covering all branches and limbs with 1 ½” of ice. That put 40% of all trees on the ground. It’s been a huge task to clean up and repair. The course is back in shape and greens have fully recovered. Sincerely, Mark Mayfield
