Narrow but fair
several tees and greens are protected by trees leaving narrow openings. you are rewarded for accuracy. great location for a golf course.
a wonderful walk
mark and his staff are wonderful----not crowded, fun course. great setting----and a good value for your dollar
Fun course in beautiful setting
Great course in excellent shape, Very fun to play. Often a nice breeze to keep you comfortable. Very friendly staff and good food.
Worst day of golfing
If I ever had a day where I wanted to walk off the course it was today.
Found out when we got there that there was a tournament going on and we would have to wait to tee off. Note I was going to tee off at 156 pm and we sat and waited until 220pm. One of the golf attendance was walking around and he stopped by one group and gave them free carts for waiting and I was standing with my son and he just walk right by me. So we started off at 1 in front of everyone by the time we got to 3 they jumped people in front of us and we waited 45 mins to tee off of 3.. Wow!! It took us 3 1/2 hrs to play 9 holes. I went to the club house and they gave me a rain check but I don't think I will go back.
Jewel in gorge
Beacon Rock is a jewel in the columbia river gorge. Nicely maintained course with very friendly staff. Will play again soon.
A Treasure!
We were a bit early so decided to try the club's Sunday morning buffet ($9/ person). The buffet had the usual tasty items such as waffles, fresh fruit, pastires, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs etc. The staff that took care of the tee time check-ins also took care of the buffet and table clean-up. They did a great job at both! When we arrived at Beacon Rock, one of the staff members brought our reserved carts to the parking lot where we parked. A big plus in my book! {:>) This course is about 25 miles from Vancouver, WA and the drive up the Gorge is magnificant on a sunny day. We highly recommend playing this course!
dry course
Had not played in long time. Pleasantly surprised. Nice course, fair amount of difficultly. Workers doing good job to maintain course. Will play again
Great scenery, setting in the Gorge
Great location for a 9 hole course with some challenging holes due to length and / or layout. Conditions for November were good.
Great views, fun course, worth the play.
These guys take pride in their course, they are cleaning out some overgrown areas and it really opens up the course. It is always fun out there, neat views and a course for everyone. We will be playing here again.
this course has leaves
why would the manager be out driving around in the swamp when the sand trap is full of leaves and i cant find my ball?
Very unique course
This course is a very nice 9 hole course that can be played as 18 due to the additional tee areas. Number of holes have water, trees, narrow fairways, while others open up more so it offers something for everyone. Staff was excellent explaining the course ahead of time since it was my first time playing. Challenging but also easy enough not to discourage beginners.
New Management, GREAT!
Beautifully maintained. Second set of tees for 18 holes. New management has made excellent upgrades...cart paths, carts, etc. We held a tournament here and Mark and staff we wonderful to work with. Love this course - feels like "home". WELL worth the drive (45 mintues from Portland) even if you play it twice to get in your 18!
Ok course horrible staff member
Overall the course can be a fun one to play especially if you're a beginner but sadly our party of four nor will any of our friends ever play the course again. Drove 45min to get there only to be made felt that we were bothering the woman staff member by being there, she was extremely rude and unorganized. This is sad because the other time we were the other woman staff member was very hospitable but this seriously horrible experience made it so we will definitely be paying the extra $5 or $10 to play at Green Mountain or Skamania Lodge from now on.
We got the $22.00 per person with a cart and a meal wonderful!
My wife and I have always loved Beacon Rock and have a wonderful time. Not only is the course a lot of fun and challenging but the owner and his staff always go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need. If you haven't been to Beacon Rock you are missing out!!
The scenery around you while playing is spectacular. Columbia Gorge surrounds you.
I had great time and perfect for those starting out. Not much trouble to get in, however you got to hit it straight. I see this becoming a good place nine holes in with my 12 year old and still challenge me.
Great Course for the Money!
I really like this course. It is easy to walk and has a nice mix of holes. Some are more open and forgiving while others have narrow fairways where accuracy is critical. Greens are well kept, but slow. It is in the heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge so scenery is a plus. All in all a nice fast course to play.
Friendly staff, good value
The new owner is maintaining the course much better than before, very friendly and accommodating. Most of the holes are fairly easy, but there are couple of challenging holes, especially the 4th hole.
Hidden Gem
It’s a beautiful course with majestic views of the Columbia River Gorge. Had a great time!
great fun
great fun, staff very friendly, let us go out a little early, even gave us a couple umbrella's to use even though the carts were enclosed. course in very nice condition.
Great bang for the buck in the Gorge
This is one of the most fun 9-hole courses I have ever played! It is challenging, yet easy enough that you a high handicap golfer can still play and enjoy. The course is in really great shape and the staff will bend over backwards for you. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a enjoyable, affordable round of golf.
Comment from the owners: Every effort is made to exceed the expectations of all of our customers. This was a GolfNow HOT DEAL 18 holes Walking Rate with limitations on use to one specific tee time and pre-paid. We moved his tee time as requested, added additional players to his reservation at the same rate, but did not provide a free power cart as it wasn't part of the HOT DEAL. We made exceptions to the limitations on two out of three requests and offered a power cart. We're really trying to be accommodating wherever possible. Please give us another opportunity. Thank you!
