Nice 9 hole course
Well maintained 9 hole course. Beautiful scenery. Good layout. Not too challenging. Nice pro shop/souvenir shop. Excellent staff.
Friendly People working to keep a nice course going
I played Friday afternoon before Labor Day weekend. The course is only 9 holes as they closed the front 9 for maintenance purposes. I played it twice. 8 of the 9 holes were in good shape. Hole 12, the par 5 was a bit overgrown and had a fairway that needed to be mowed and maintained..so I lost 2 balls on it during both rounds.. Nonetheless, the other 9 holes were scenic, well maintained and challenging. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy to have me there. My one comment on them was that there was not a face covering to be seen in the pro shop. I was able to keep social distance, but it did help me to understand why Oklahoma has one of the highest infection rates in the country.
Was underwater and did not let customers know
Arrived at the course and over 1/2 was completely underwater. We drove 1.5 hours to play and would have liked to have know.
Beautiful scenery along Fort Gibson Lake
What a gem of a course inside a state park. Well maintained and a good challenge. Well worth the drive.
A hard course
It's a beautiful course, it over looks the lake and it is very pretty, but there are a lot of blind drives, hitting off of very hard or rocky terrain and almost every hole is elevated and you have to shoot at least a club more than you would expect, our groups scratch players even complained. If you want to be challenged; play this course, very nice views.
Terrible
I will never play there again it was horrible! Pace of play was bad, club house was always locked, people tee off whenever, and was unorganized, also driving range is so small you can't even use a driver. Waste of money I didn't even stay past 9 holes. And the greens were 50% sand and the ball bounces when putting.
Sequoyah
Course was I. Good shape. No waiting or pressure from other golfers. Great time!
This course was in rough shape
It was my firs time to play this course, and probably the last. The course was laid out well, it just wasn't very well maintained. There was a lot of sticks and leaves and other debris on the fairways. It was hard to find your ball in the short rough because of all the leaves. The sprinklers must not work right because there was a mud hole around most of them. Value was OK because of hot deal on Golf Now, but drove 45 minutes and wasn't worth it.
Challenging Public Owned Course
Fairways are well kept in spite of the flinty soil. Greens are very challenging, they must be read carefully, as most have more than one slope Carts are in good condition, staff is friendly and knowledgeable[they know golf]. Other players are personable and do not mind letting faster players play threw. We have played two other Oklahoma State owned courses and this one is the most challenging and has the most character. The views of Gibson Lake are great.
Rocky
Rocks everywhere, very dry and dead, the greens in good shape
