Opened in 1931, Brookdale Golf Course has a classic design that has hosted generations of local golfers. The course features large, undulating greens and wide, rolling fairways lined with old-growth firs. The player-friendly layout is ideal for beginners with wide, open fairways and generous landing areas, but there are still challenges in store on the greens, which are bordered by thick rough and strategically placed bunkers. There are several interesting holes with downhill approaches to the green. It may not be what you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but Brookdale is a fun and forgiving golf course where high handicappers can build their confidence. Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, it is one of the most affordable rounds in the area.

nice course
staff is very nice and accomodating. I enjoyed the course conditions.
Great day!
Course conditions was a little wet for a couple of holes but overall very satisfactory. Pace was flowing right through with great company. Greens were a little slow but very puttable. And would recommend especially with the price.
Not Bad at all
The company was great. Pace of play a little slow as it was crowded as they try to enjoy the descent weather. Greens were semi fast but rolls true. And for the price, it was worth it and planning on going back this week.
Not bad
Course was fine for the conditions. Greens were in good shape. About the greens, the temp greens are something else but it is what it is. The issue for me was labeling the temp greens and how far they were. Understand they were using temp tees but at least mark the distance. I forgot my range finder so I was clueless with distances. There were a couple of groups that I caught up to them walking and there was no chance they were letting anyone pass. Shame. Anyways, course was very playable for the conditions and would recommend as long as it’s not raining.
Good course but not a year round course
I definitely see the appeal of this course the layout is good and pace of play was good too. It is not one I will visit again though this time of year. Though this course I am sure is great in spring and summer, the design does not lend it’s self to year round play in Washington. The course was saturated with a lot of standing water. They made due with the temp greens on fairway grass and relocated tee boxes, but I have played other courses in the area better suited for our Washington weather. Don’t get me wrong, I will definitely play this course again. I can definitely see the appear and positive rating for this place, but if you are looking for a winter fix this is not the place.
If you want a good course and good people, this is the place to be in the fairer months. Oh, one last note, this course does not have a range. So if you need that quick bucket to warm up they do have a feel you can swing a few irons on, but be prepared play and pick up your own balls to do so.
Really wet
Fun course to play. Great staff and bar. The course was really wet. A few holes had new lakes in center. Which called for temporary greens. Really busy for rate and a little slow. But I love this small course.
Course is old, has never been upgraded, but covenant
Decent course. Fiarways kept in good shape but the rough was extremely dry and mostly hard pan. Greens had been punched about a month ago but were decent.
Great staff at a nice course
The two of use walked 18 in 3.5 hours. Lots of long par 4's with back and forth open fairways. The staff here is great. Both in the restaurant and in the pro shop. Second time golfing this course in two weeks with hot deals from golf now.
Brookdale Golf
I have played Brookdale Golf Course for almost 60 years. The course is in the best condition I have experienced.
Brookdale is a very traditional course and an excellent course for seniors and guys who play above a 10 handicap.
There are several challenging holes for golfers of any caliber.
The price I was able to get for a foursome was absolutely outstanding.
Our foursome had a very enjoyable time at Brookdale!
Always a great experience when we're back in the area, used to live nearby. Great distances on each hole with tree cover in the best places to give a new challenge on every hole. The elevation changes give this course a huge edge. Love playing here.
