Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 45 minutes southwest of Tacoma, Tahoma Valley Golf Course has garnered a reputation for being the driest course in the Puget Sound. The course boasts well manicured greens that putt fast and true. The greens showcase the best of the Northwest's undulating, bump-and-run golf. Its location provides every hole with a stunning view of Mount Rainier. Just shy of 6,000 yards from the back tees, it's not an especially long layout but it is narrow enough to present a challenge. The wide fairways are forgiving, making it player friendly enough for beginners, and there are enough challenges to please high handicappers as well. With an abundance of mature trees throughout, Tahoma Valley Golf Course demands accuracy. The par 3s are particularly memorable for both their views and level of difficulty.

Great value. Simple fairway but challenging green.
I booked the tt. But was not able to play due illness. 3 of my friend played. They told me the course put the 4th in our group. And told them that I can get money back. Just let you know if I can get it back some how
Hidden Secret
What a great course. Staff is very friendly and great price
Réunion Party With funny Games
We played this hot deal with GolfNow. The Course was ok. no water, no challenges,no thrills, But the rate was worth it . The Bad Thing was a reunion tournament in Front of us playing Games like playing with ohne Hand, using a Hockey Stick, Running three times around The Green before hitting. We needed 4 Hours for The First 9 holes. It was a torture.
We have been informed of some slow foursomes before us, but did not expect that!
Over watered greens
The greens are way over watered, standing water is a problem. The maintenance staff should start earlier to be off the front nine by the first tee time. They should pay attention and not slow play down. The layout for 17 and 18 is very stupid. Poor design and can cause major backup during busy time. Doesn't seem like the ownership takes pride in what they have here. This course has a lot of potential if you get a new course maintenance superintendent that's not a poor leader. Get outta bed earlier!!! Get out of the way sooner or start tee times after work is done.
nice course well priced
they have hot deals everyday and has a very quick pace of play. a few challenging holes and a couple strange ones.
Would not play unless only course near me
Layout isn't very interesting. Short in length. Conditions just ok. Greens slow, fairways/rough were dry and patchy. Odd transitions between holes where you cross in front/around other greens/tee boxes. And 17 and 18 share a tee box - meaning you drive/walk back down 17 after playing it to tee off 18. Not pricy so you could maybe argue it's worth the money, but it will be a while before I venture that way again.
Hot Bartenders
If you are looking for an affordable golf round on a playable golf course with good food then I do recommend stopping here. Is it Chambers Bay? Definitely not, however is the value far better here than most courses? I do believe so. You can spend more and get less at many other places. Here, you get what you paid for or maybe even more. Especially if you value the waitstaff and food quality as part of your day on the golf course. Be forewarned I think if you can walk this course then it’s best to do so. They do have carts but there’s not exactly a cart path so it’s a bumpy ride. Still worth every penny whether you decide to walk or ride. Cheers and go low!!
