Good course. Not overly challenging.
The course was in great shape considering the heavy rain we have been having this time of year. My only complaint would be that the maintenance crew was working on the tee boxes as we were playing. They seemed to be on every hole and there was a tremendous amount of noise. Not the most relaxing round.
Greens were true and nice
For this time of year, great shape. I enjoyed it very much. The weather was perfect today
Good course, nice greens, good pace of play by everyone
The course was a little wet from the rains, but the greens were in very good shape and well taken care of. The course has a good variety of holes for distances, and I like the open layout. Even though no real trees to get in trouble, if you are off the fairway the rough will cost you a stroke if you are not real sharp on your recovery shot. I feel it is one of the better courses in the greater Portland area.
Best Course in the area
Langdon farms is a gorgeous course. Greens are hard and fast, and in the summer they have some long grass outside of the regular rough that makes you not want to miss too badly. Sandtraps and greens make this course great. They seem to have a green of every shape, size, and angle on this course. It is a bit more money than I like to spend, but they have some good deals on Golfnow that make it very affordable. I golf at this course every chance I get.
Great layout, in good shape for the time of year.
Lots of fun holes I play this course this time of year because it drains well and the green fees are much more reasonable than during the summer. If you don't mind paying high green fees the course is incredible in the summer. I have never been dissappointed in the course when I have played it.
Greens are in good shape considering the winter conditions
Course is in good condition, including sand traps which are usually too wet this time of year.
fun and firm.
course was in good condition considering the weather we have had. i enjoy playing golf in the winter and find it best to not go when it is rain because yes your ball will plug and be difficult to find. instead go after a cold streak because the ground is firm and you can actually get roll out of your drives. course was in good shape, a little bumpy greens but fair.
Wonderful golf course.
When you put together a combination of nice grass on the tee box, fairway, and the green, x18 , you would have a nice golf course. Add a nice club house and manicure everything around the holes is pleasant to the eyes.
Overall good value and well maintained course
I have played at Langdon many times and have had good luck. This past round was not that experience. My round was prepaid on golf now and after the 2nd hole we discovered we were behind a shot gun tournament that had gone off 30 minutes prior to our tee time. We left after 9 holes. To their credit they did offer a rain check based on the slow conditions.
Great looking course, but...
Great course. Challenging yet not impossible. The only draw back was the course officials. They started us late and expected us to play catch up through the first 4 holes. We were enjoying ourselves until 3 different course officials were on our butts telling us to hurry up. One official sped up to us on the tee while I was teeing off (how bout some course etiquette guys). Maybe if they would let us play we could catch up. This made us feel hurried and decreased our overall enjoyment. Other than that the course was great.
Great Local Course, less overpriced than it used to be.
I love playing at Langdon, more than any other course in the Portland area. That is saying something as we have an abundance of great courses in our area. I consider Langdon my home course, which is also saying something. I can relax here and enjoy my round, always. If there is a problem, it is taken care of without question. I really appreciate that and it keeps loyal.
Do like the lay out
Course gave me an enjoyable afternoon with son and son-in-law
Average course - nothing special
Good course, in good condition. There is nothing bad about the course but I was expecting a lot more. The reviews I saw online were great. I am not from Oregon and was only visiting. I have played 8-10 times in Oregon and thought that most courses I played were better than this one
It's not the beach, it's a golf course.
Langdon Farms, it's been used as a course for US Open Qualifying and for a good reason, as a European it strikes me as a classic US course. Tight mown approaches to greens, with a few false fronts as well as a few long holes where you need to drive long and hit an approach high and hold it.
It can get very busy, it's a good venue for corporate events and tournaments. this leads to some slow rounds.
If I have one criticism of the course and it's where I hold my handicap so I play the course a bit, it's this, where's the sand? They have bunkers and a distinct lack of sand in them, I asked someone who played the US Open Qualifying and he confirmed there wasn't any sand in them either. His advice was, just don't hit into them, oh if only we could guarantee that.
On the whole it's a fair test of a golfers ability, it can be expensive though, it can charge this because corporate events are no doubt lucrative. My advice is use golfnow to find a bargain and learn to hit the greens on approach, otherwise your short game will be tested on those short mown approaches to those greens.
Over rated.
Booked time on golfnow.com. It was great deal. Finished first 9 with a lot fun. But the starter putted tow groups infront of us when we came to the back 9. We didn't want to wait over 20minuets so we stopped and went home.
Good place to play in the summer....
poor drainage in winter....ball plugs....restaurant staff was rude...left us standing there for over 5 minutes despite being half empty without seating us...we finally just left. Retail is overpriced...use golfnow "Hot Deals". I recommend it for summer play only.
We're very sorry you were treated poorly in Langdon's Grill. That is definitely not the norm for us and hope you will give us another shot. As for the conditions, we're regularily recognized as one of the driest courses around. We've identified some excessively wet areas with all the rain recently and plan to add a significant amount of drainage. I hope you'll come back for another winter round as we know you'll be impressed. Thanks again for helping us improve!
