Reviews
Nice course we play here a lot but the pace of play is ridiculous!!!!!! 6+ Hour rounds!!!!!
Wonderful Greens
Course is on relatively flat terrain; however, the greens are modern / large / built-up greens. Course layout incorporates many bunkers and water for a challenging design. A must play if in the area.
Awesome Course!
This has to be one of the top public courses I have played in the Tri State area! Looking forward to teeing it up again here soon.
Another Sunday funday
Another good day at Sugarwood. Good shape for early spring. Dormant grasses still allowed for good play. Will be really nice when they green up but they gave you some extra distance. Look forward to getting out there again!
Sunday funday!
Always enjoy playing this course even though i don't play my best here (may be me!). Course was wet but to be expected with previous day's rain. Was drying out and greens were excellent.
Winter rates made it decent deal for the money.
Best public course in Tri-state area
Course is always in good shape. Of course, at this time of year the Bermuda is dormant, but turf is still thick and lies are good. Always well maintained. Very nice layout. Challenging but manageable. Course improvements are made every year. This is my home course because it is simply the best within in an hour drive. Staff and owner are super friendly and helpful. The Clubhouse is not the greatest, but you don’t play the clubhouse!!! Owner has put money in the course instead of the clubhouse, which was a great decision for us golfers. Great deals on clubs too. Highly recommend !!!
Excellent golf course for all skill levels
Sugarwood Golf Club is an excellent course for all skills levels. The layout is great and it is apparent that the staff works diligently to ensure the landscaping, turf and features are maintained cyclical and regularly. The pace of play is sufficient for all skills levels (I.e., hack, beginner, intermediate, and advanced) which is transparent of a great course.
Quality Course
Sugarwood is in pristine condition so far (Summer 19). The fairways are tight and the greens are spotless. It is moderately difficult but not overly challenging. Staff friendliness is improving through the years. It can get very crowded, so expect a slower pace of play. The price is a little expensive as well, but overall a great course.
Hidden Gem of a Course
Course is beautiful, well kept, and an unexpected find. Regular rates are slightly high with $39 for 18, riding. But I took a chance and played the course on Monday. I cam back today (Tuesday). Twilight rate (after 4:30 pm) was $29.50.
I would highly recommend this course. Just beautiful.
