Oaks at Edgewood Golf Course
About
Edgewood in Big Bend boasts two different 18-hole courses, the Oaks and the Pines. There is something for everyone no matter what skill level you are since the more challenging Oaks Course is perfectly complemented by the more forgiving Pines Course. The Oaks is routed through a diverse landscape of rolling hills covered with mature forests and lakes. It also winds alongside the Fox River. Water hazards come into play and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Tremendous emphasis is placed on accuracy on this golf course, but it is not too punishing if your shots are slightly errant. The course stretches to 6,800 yards from the back tees. A cart will be required on this golf course but the flatter, shorter Pines Course is much more walker friendly.

OVERALL GOOD COURSE
There were a few greens that were in rough condition. Overall a nice course.
A tough, scenic and fun course
The Oaks at Edgewood Golf Course is not an easy challenge be any means. If you are not hitting it straight here, you better have an extra sleeve of ball available. The course tends to be a bit wet in the spring due to the Fox River sharing it's space if the rains are above average. Normally this course is in great condition, with a tough layout and greens that force you to bring you "A" putting game along or you will 3-putt a couple times, if not more. I think the Oaks at Edgewood is one of the most difficult around and the slope rating justifies that fact. That does not mean you won't have fun out here as the beauty of of the back woods of SE Wisconsin will almost distract you from your game. On the other side of the property is the Pines Course, which is a little easier on the nerves. Jeff and staff do a great job and finding a flaw in the management here is quite rare..
Great Course for the money
The course was in great share and the staff were friendly.
I jsut love this course
Rocked the back 9, my cart was on the fritz, left a couple of balls taking a bath
36 holes of great golf value.
In the fall of the year a required piece of equipment will be your camera. Greens framed with red leave maples and yellow birch. The back Oaks simply breathe taking especially hole #14. Enjoy!
Course in nice shape - great value
Course played well. Greens in great shape. Course maintenance quite good. Staff was friendly.
Some tough holes,a good course
I think this course has some really good challenging holes. I like playing this course.
fun course
this course is a fine place to golf and the pace of play is kept in
The oaks course has a nice layout
Course is in good shape, but they could use a lot more yardage markers.
Excellent challenge, varied hole layouts
Challenging layout, many beautiful holes, a lot of water. Hit it straight you can score well, if not it is a struggle!
hard course
Vert Challening course.Great Price
Fairways long and not maintained
Traps hard and not maintained
greens ok
tees long and spotty
This a great golf course but greens need some attention.
I play Edgewood alot. I'm always satisfied with the experience. On this occassion, the condition of the greens was questionable. I would say just about half of them had been recently aeriated. while I completely understand that courses need to do this at this time of year, there was no rhyme or reason to these greens. The first green was perfect. I even commented that it was probably one of the best greens I had putt on all season. the second green was similar. After that it became a guessing game. Some had been worked on and some not. There was no pattern to the work that had been done. Some appeared to have been aeriated in the last 24 hrs. Some perhaps a week before. There was no way of telling what condition a given green was in until you were close enough to actually see it. While I enjoyed the round whole heartedly I will say that I never encountered such random conditions on a course before.
Enjoyable course
The course was enjoyable. The front nine was in good shape for late summer, the greens were true. The back nine was in good shape but the greens were recently aerated so putting was difficult.
It would be nice to know at the clubhouse the conditions of play. However, for the price, who could complain.
By the way, the weather was great so even a bad day of golf is better than a good day of work.
Good course for a great price.
We golfed the Oaks for about $25 on a Sunday afternoon. Course was green and greens were in very good condition. Fairway and tee box grasses were a little long, but didn't affect the golf. We enjoyed ourselves in a great setting, especially the back 9.
Better condition than in past years,
Good value for the GolfNow deal. Some of the fairways on the Oaks lower 9 in rough shape.
Back nine outshines the front 9
Course is well maintained. But there are several bumpy and patchy fairways on the front nine due to the proximity of the river and it can get quite swampy at times. Recommend the Pines 18 over the Oaks.
great value AND great conditions!
the oaks is a tough course without the 85 degrees, but it was in such great shape I scored well anyway. chipped in for eagle on 6 along the water. a few fairways showed some non-grassy areas but it never really affected play. hotdeal was $20 so we had to go...
Tees and fairways
Tees need some work as do the fairways and rough, lots of grass including clippings. Fun track with slippery greens. Good value, fun to play.
Really good greens, very solid course. Definitely will play there again.
Definitely worth playing, good variety of holes, fantastic greens, from someone who is VERY picky about greens. Only drawback is the back nine of the Oaks course is unwalkable, in case I wanted to walk. But that is extreme nitpicking.
A pretty layout.
This course had a lot of interesting holes. Some were very challenging. The greens & tee boxes were in great shape. There were a few spots in the fairway, where the grass had not grown in yet. Due to the amount of water on the course, there are areas that
are quite wet. Those areas also require cart path only. We enjoyed this course & look forward to playing it again.
