Oaks at Edgewood Golf Course
About
Edgewood in Big Bend boasts two different 18-hole courses, the Oaks and the Pines. There is something for everyone no matter what skill level you are since the more challenging Oaks Course is perfectly complemented by the more forgiving Pines Course. The Oaks is routed through a diverse landscape of rolling hills covered with mature forests and lakes. It also winds alongside the Fox River. Water hazards come into play and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Tremendous emphasis is placed on accuracy on this golf course, but it is not too punishing if your shots are slightly errant. The course stretches to 6,800 yards from the back tees. A cart will be required on this golf course but the flatter, shorter Pines Course is much more walker friendly.

Slow play
The back nine on the Oaks is tough enough and contributes to slow play. Then to make it really slow, they put out a five some of poor golfers. We quit after seven holes on the back. Enough is enough.
Move your tee blocks
First we booked the Oaks course and upon arrival we were told we had to play the Pines course as they had an outing on the Oaks. The tee boxes were very unlevel and the tee blocks looked like they had not been moved in a week. Fairways were good but the greens were not rolling true with many ball digits and spike Mark's. Looks like they don't cut greens on the weekends. Not worth the $49 the charge for a round.
Separation
Great social distancing and beverage cart kept distance but still great service
Waste of time
I know there has been a lot of rain but how about cutting SOME of the fairways. In the middle of the fairway and it was like playing in the rough. Tee boxes and greens haven't been cut for days. At least be honest when we check in and tell us the course is in terrible shape. And get somebody who is at least polite to take my money when I check in. What a joke. Don't play here, too many other options.
Day off golf
Enjoyed the round very much. Played the Oaks course in 3 hours 25 minutes. A couple of greens had some bad spots near the hole. Otherwise the course was in good shape.
Playable course
The Oaks course is fun to play. Good variety and fairly long. A couple of tee boxes were a bit torn up but fairways and greens were fine.
My opinion
Challenging course. Pace was ok. Greens difficult. No water offered for free on course, except at clubhouse.
Would golf here again for less cost.
Review
Play was quite slow. Course marshal did not pick up on children driving golf cart. Staff not overly friendly, very business like. Only played nine holes due to storm, thunder, and rain.
Nice course
Had a nice time here today. Generally this is a nice course and the pace was good (at other times it has been slow, so I suspect it really depends on the day/time you go). There was a wasp nest in one of the sand traps, so that was kinda cruddy! Otherwise the par five holes are challenging, there are a couple fun par threes, and it’s a pretty course. We’ll come back again.
Soggy
Course is nicely put together. Standing water and saturated ground in fairways and rough made for a dirty and frustrating round. No mention of soggy conditions at booking or at check-in feels deceptive. Drainage and honesty need to be addressed.
Thank for review. Sorry the golf course was wet. Mother Nature has blessed us with about 9 inches of rain in May.
