Pines at Edgewood Golf Course
About
There are two golf courses at the Edgewood facility in Big Bend, the Pines and the Oaks. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome at Edgewood. More experienced players can take on the formidable Oaks Course, which plays across rolling forested hills, while beginning and intermediate players might be more comfortable on the more player-friendly Pines Course. The forgiving Pines layout is flatter and more walker-friendly, but that is not to say it is a simple pitch-and-putt golf course. Plenty of sand bunkers come into play and there are large lakes that come into play on a few holes. At 6,500 yards, it is shorter than the other course by about 300 yards, offering a quicker pace of play. In addition to the two golf courses, Edgewood also has a driving range and short game facility with two putting greens, a chipping green, and a practice bunker.

Solid Home Course
Having played The Pines for going on three years now I'm glad to say Edgewood is my home course.
They're junior membership program is superb, and despite today's slow play (leagues) I still managed to card a personal best of 87 (40-47).
The course plays to nice middle of the road difficulty, and will chew you up if you let it! Don't go too far right or left, lest you wind up beneath thick pine trees, or in the woods.
The pines front is very easy to play well, but at the same time very easy to play poorly. In the back avoid water at all costs, and when in doubt punch out to maximize your scoring potential.
Overall this course is filled with a 50/50 shot of lovely old timers in leagues, and fresh young guns who make the most of their money.
Regardless of your handicap, you'll enjoy your time at Edgewood!
Pleasant experience
Very few people onl the course. It’s a friendly layout. Greens are very challenging.
Edgewood Golf Course Big Bend
I played the Pines front 9 and the Oaks back 9. The Oaks 9 was more challenging than the Pines 9. The Oaks 9 had more water penalty areas and longer carries to the greens.
I would recommend this course. I enjoyed both 9's and felt the course was a fair price.
The course has very hard greens.
They did a good job of putting together 18 holes to play as wet as the course was today.
Teatime was canceled at Silver Spring golf course by the course itself?
I booked a teatime at Silver Spring golf course and they canceled it on me. Why do they do this?
4 slow guys in front
The day would’ve been great we were cruising right along then we caught a foursome they were 2 1/2 holes behind the group ahead of them we waited every shot never offered us a chance to go through had we done that they would’ve never seen us again too bad somebody didn’t tell them To do that I asked the guy on the drink cart twice to make a recommendation to them I don’t think it’s up to me as a player
Nice course
Very nice course even with the couple holes with the wet fairways due to rain
Nice course for beginners
The course was pretty nice overall, it definitely had some challenging dog legs and also got water involved in a couple spots. But in general the course is pretty open making it hard to lose balls. It also makes scrambling after a poor shot much easier. All in all a nice course and I would play again
soggy
Love the course, but when it rains the course pays the price. Very soggy on many holes. One hole was changed from a par 4 to a 3 to avoid water.
Thank you for the review! We are happy to have had you play with us at Edgewood for multiple years now, and look forward to having you back for more!
