Pines at Edgewood Golf Course
About
There are two golf courses at the Edgewood facility in Big Bend, the Pines and the Oaks. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome at Edgewood. More experienced players can take on the formidable Oaks Course, which plays across rolling forested hills, while beginning and intermediate players might be more comfortable on the more player-friendly Pines Course. The forgiving Pines layout is flatter and more walker-friendly, but that is not to say it is a simple pitch-and-putt golf course. Plenty of sand bunkers come into play and there are large lakes that come into play on a few holes. At 6,500 yards, it is shorter than the other course by about 300 yards, offering a quicker pace of play. In addition to the two golf courses, Edgewood also has a driving range and short game facility with two putting greens, a chipping green, and a practice bunker.

Great course
The long holes are fun to grip and rip and the few water holes are challenging. All ways a pleasure playing both Pines & Oaks... I understand making money on alcoholic beverages but hey could put a few water coolers on the course for those who just enjoy a quick sip of water...That being said I still rate this 5 stars
Poorly kept tee boxes
The course looked very nice throughout the round; however, the tee boxes left much to be desired. Very uneven and plenty of divots without and seed on the cart or at the greens.
The rate of play was very nice and the course was laid out nicely with few fairways that ran next to each other. A little overpriced, but still was a fun 18.
Good course
Very nice place lots of variety in holes well layer out
battle of the couples
It was men vs women playing a shambles. We never waited on a hole, nor were we rushed by the group behind us. Beer cart was ample & prices acceptable.
The clubhouse was nice & cool to enjoy a beverage after our round.
The Pines
This is my second time at Edgewood and I was single and paired up with a 3-some on the Pines. The pace of play was slow as this was a vacation weekend and we had many fathers and sons on their outing, but it was not too slow (~ 4.5h). The course in most of the places is good shape except for two holes that have a lot more poorly drained areas and one of the tee boxes for the blues was tucked back in a wooded area, surrounded by standing water and was a holiday home for mosquitoes. Very enjoyable and recommended
Some holes were very wet
Overall a good value for your money. Would have been nice to have water coolers out on such a hot day
May golf
Course was in pretty good shape. A couple holes modified due to the standing water from heavy rains earlier in the week. Expect that here. Felt tee boxes could be cut shorter. Also found many times to be searching for a flat spot to tee off from. Wish that could be addressed. Always been an issue for me here. Pace of play good for a Saturday afternoon. Starters on the course. Realize it was only May but only one beverage cart for 36 holes. Didn't see cart until 18th hole. Staff were all friendly. Overall most important was course condition which, aside from two holes under water, I was happy with.
Nice place to play
Because of a conflict with a league on the Pines course, it was suggested I play the Oaks instead. Great idea. The front nine on the Oaks is ok. The back nine more interesting and challenging.
Good deal
I paid $15.00 for 18 holes with a cart. It was a little cold and brezzey as our tee time was 724am. The starter asked if we would rather play the Oaks (which i believe is the better course) because the womans league was set to go off the pines and would slow down our second nine. The course was in good shape for the time of year.
Average course
Great and challenging course. Haven't got a bird out of it but will try again.
Fall afternoon at Edgewood
The course itself was in decent shape and we had an overall good experience. The only downside was the condition of the golf carts. We tried 3 different carts and all 3 were in need of some serious attention.
good deal
Got to play 18 with a cart for $13 dollars. Would have been pretty slow but I skipped ahead 2 holes and got done in less than 3 hrs.
Course is in good to excellent condition.
Holes 13 and 14 are being worked on due to water damage but the rest of the course was excellent. Good price for 18 and a cart.
Someone buy a lawnmower for this course!
A lawn mower must be a foreign object for this course as the fairways were longer than most courses rough and the greens were extremely slow due to the un-mowed conditions and greens that were already arriated prior to labor day weekend.
Great Course
Played the Pines on 8-14-13. Very challenging from the back tees. Course & greens in great shape. Pin placement very tough, most in right front. Price was great deal at $29.
Steve
The golf course is always in good shape. The pro is friendly and knows his stuff. The course is fun with some hard holes as well as easy.
Staff was slow. Course needs work.
Staff was slow in the bar. course was in bad shape. Marshall wasn't making sure the golfer s were staying on time.
the course wasn't too difficult for my son.
It was in good shape, played real early so alot of the greens weren't cut yet. Also no one pushed us because we were one of the first ones out.
Great Layout ... Need all 14 clubs
This is a course that I play all 36 holes once a year, on the second Saturday of May ...For the past 15 years with 30 college buddies in a Ryder Cup format .... The staff at this course has gone well out of their way to make our annual outing of college buddies one of the best events of the year. One year, the course was shut down to the public (the only year it has rained on our event) and the staff took the 6 least wet holes and let us play them 3 times so we could play 18 and still get our event in
This course, The Pines, has a great layout and consists of all varieties of holes ... Doglegs left and right .. Short ,downhill, long, and uphill par threes ... Risk /Reward holes
On this day, I hit every iron in the bag, 3-SW, into the greens
Conditions can vary depending on the amount of rain. lf there has been rain a day or two before you play, be prepared to bring some bug spray.
This is the easier of the two 18 holes at this course. You are able to spray it with the driver on some holes on this course, The Pines.
The other course, The Oaks, has much much more trouble and a lot of water ..lt is more like target golf.
A great golf course in great condition.
Edgewood is in wonderful condition. Greens were very fast and rolled true. Very few problems exist in the fairways. It is a perfect venue, especially teamed up with Golf Now value.
