Alpine Valley Resort sprawls across the Kettle Moraine in southern Wisconsin, lending a unique landscape to each of its three nine-hole courses: Summit, Meadows, and Sugar Creek. In the winter, Alpine Valley is one of Wisconsin's largest ski resorts. The golf courses can be played individually or as 18-hole combinations. The Meadows/Sugar Creek will start players off on a landscape of open, grassy meadows before the landscape becomes more wooded and hillier. The namesake creek of the second nine bisects two holes on the Meadows. The back nine, Sugar Creek, is situated right along the banks of the creek. Water plays a prominent role throughout the entire golf course, with hazards coming from not only the creek but also several lakes and small ponds. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers to contend with.

This was a fun course to play..Especally the front nine..I think it was the summit course..Very intresting.. Course is short yet challenges you with risk reward shots. Feeling cocky can get you in trouble here..I would play this course agsin any day

Front 9 was fine. Back 9 aerated already ??? Really....

The front 9 looked great & it played well except for the 4 jokers in front of us standing around watching each other
hit. I aint into hurry up & wait golf. And then we got on the back 9 with the same jokers in front. WAY TOO MUCH SAND ON GREENS. 3 putting was a given. The ball would bounce and a big pluff o' sand would fly up. Way 2 early
for aeration. judgement of speed & distance, forget it. It was a challenge trying to 2 putt from over 20'. hot &
humid, behind 4 jokers, and terrible greens made a long afternoon. We should of played front 9 over.

Alpine Valley golf course

The overall condition of the course was very good. The tee boxes need some attention and a couple of the sand traps. The holes are not that long but you need to be in the right area to make the approach shot to the green. This can be challenging. I would recommend this course to all.

This course has difficult par 5's

Very scenic and rolling. The 4 par 5 holes are the most challenging. Rest of course is short but narrow fairways and tough greens make it a challenge

This course was in great shape with great views.

The course was in great shape. The summit 9 presented several challenges with the many hills, both up and down. Many great views of the surrounding area. The staff was very pleasant.

Lots of irons off the tee

Challenging little course if you've never played it before. Lots of short hole and doglegs require accuracy off the tee. If you spray a drive left or right consider it lost.

Kept driver in the bag on most par fours and hit irons. Course set up for accurate tee shots and a strategic player.

Nice course overall, would play again if was a hot deal, not sure it's worth the regular price compared to other courses in the area

my back yard

1st time played. Shot an eagle 3 on hole 17 par 5 585. Holed a 5 iron from 173 yards. Sand traps R not taken care of. Greens in great shape. A few tee box's need work. Par 3's R a lot of fun. Course is in good condition. Lots of hazards. I like that in a course. Its not long at all. But u have to be straight or suffer bogeys or worse. For the dollar its worth the twilight rate. I will be back. The greens R smalland all sloping so they R a putters nightmare.

Alpine has seen better days

Unfortunately this course just hasn't been taken care of for years. Hole locations obviously not changed since grass is growing down the sides of the hole...weeds in most traps. A few traps that were more like wild fescue. The staff was friendly and with minimal people out there we flew through the 18 holes. Probably was a top course in the 80s and then just not looked after since then

They've stepped up their Game...and it shows

I'm sure with the pressure of courses around the area they've decided to invest in a truly great course...Summit and Meadow. The comments about tee boxes is completed, as all the tee boxes are fixed and they now have a new machine air-rating the boxes today...great work. Now to mention the course as the doglegs are fun to play and the elevations are fantastic. It's a course you'll want to play again and again...I was rained out after nine and drove back at 5pm to play the other nine because it's just that kind of course. The staff gave me a raincheck when they didn't have to but that's just the kind of place this is. They treat you like great neighbors. As mentioned #4 is drivable as you go right over the sand trap to roll down the hill and onto the blind green...a must play hole. #9 has you high atop the summit to send a ball out over the hill and drop it 140 yds away. The greens are the best as I had 12 2-putts and under...Not fast but they roll true. I can't say enough about the staff that has maintained this gem...they are now cutting diagonals on the fairways...is the PGA coming? Bonus secret: I went to the pro-shop for lunch and they now have pretzel bun Brats....Wow! Again check this course out as it's a great layout for the price.

Excellent Layout

Very enjoyable course. Some spectacular views and a very fun layout. Some holes have huge elevation change. Course conditions aren't at the top echelon of quality, but with the holes cut into the hills and valleys the way they are and the greens being so well kept, it makes it one of the most enjoyable to play in SE Wisco. For the cost, this course is worth it for sure.

maintenance needed

Many of the hole yardage signs/maps was covered with overgrown brush and were hard to read and having never golfed there it made the course more difficult. The tee boxes were in very poor shape. The grooming of the fairways were very good.

Got us on despite tee time mix up

When we checked in they told me my reservation was no good. After showing her my receipt from Golf Now I was told that Golf Now didn't have that tee time from them. I wasw told we would have to wait over an hour for an open tee time but after a little bit of conversation the starter was able to fit us in at approx. the right time. It could have been alot worse.

Great deal for the price only 2 small complaints...

Great course. Clean, fast play, nice challenges. Now with that said, we saw the beverage cart twice in 18 holes so stock up before you head out and in conjunction...no portable bathroom anywhere. Would definitely go again, but I'd bring my cooler and baby wipes ;)
