Sugar Creek/Summit at Alpine Valley Resort
About
In the winter, Alpine Valley is one of Wisconsin's largest ski resorts, but during the summer months the resort's three nine-hole courses serve as the centerpiece. The resort is situated in southern Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine area, which provides an interesting and diverse landscape for each nine. The courses: Summit, Sugar Creek, and Meadows, can be played individually or as 18-hole combinations. The Sugar Creek/Summit course begins along the banks of the front nine's namesake creek. It then climbs upward on the Summit nine, incorporating a variety of interesting elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Golfers should expect some uneven lies. Water comes into play on almost every hole on the Sugar Creek nine but the mature trees and elevation changes pose a bigger threat on the back nine.

The course plays longer than its yardage
The course was in much better shape then the previous time I had played it. The sand traps need work but talking to the greens crew working on a sand trap the main problem they have is that some of the sand traps get washed out when they have big rain storms due to some of the hills on the course.
Needs some work
I haven't been here in a few years and playing aerated greens are always troublesome this time a year. The tee boxes are nearly unplayable as they are dug up and have no flat areas. The greens on the meadow are so small I can't remember playing anything comparable. The only change is the big open barn for weddings and bathrooms that rank up there in my top five. Again it's great to see the pines have grown to make some holes challenging but overall the course needs a makeover of large scale. Sand traps are some of the best I've played similar to brightondale. Again last round of the year and it was worth the $20 on golf now but not much more than that.
Pleasant Surprise
From Colorado I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is and it was rather challenging too, bring extra ball's it takes a bit to find them in the rough I would definitely play again the Ranger was great very helpful and a genuinely nice guy.
Unique layout
The Ranger was attentive and doing his job.
If every course had such a ranger it would be a better golf world😎
Alpine
I really enjoy playing this course. I like the challenge of the hills. The staff was excellent as well
Alpine valley Golf
Not impressed for the money, women’s tee box were worst I’ve played this year, unusual course layout, hard to find next hole, cart path seriously needs to be torn up and replaced with….gravel would suffice.
Much improved
I haven't playes here in 4 yeass. Great improvements, fairways and greens are in great shape. Really nice layout. A lot of off course improvements as well.
Weekday round
Got on course on schedule. Slow 3some in front of our 2some let us play through on the 3rd hole. We finished 18 in 3 hours 15 minutes. Marshall was present and visible on course. Drink cart made regular rounds. Course is still healing from irrigation construction. We enjoy playing here.
Alpine Valley golf playground
Very nice 27 hole golf course with beautiful views and elevation chages
Distinctive!
Picturesque, challenging but playable course. New refreshment patio a nice improvement.
Great potential.
1st time playing the course, it is a great value for the dollar. Very tight course, if you get into the rough, it’s hard to make the green if you are aways out. Greens were a little slow, but it’s early in the season. Lots of course maintenance going on, but it is out of the way. Scenery is amazing. Well worth the drive.
Unimpressive
Starter was great .
Confirmed Golf Now Tee time of 9:40 was slated for 9:20. No big deal. Foursome was on site and good to go.
Pro Shop was a different story.
Unimpressed with the credit card reader, the cashier somehow ended up in a discussion with a member of our foursome. Customer service coaching would go a long way here….
Not an ideal “ Welcome “ to Alpine Valley.
Course conditions were just okay.
Long rough and punched greens, with aggregate still present.
51/2 hours.
The weather was spectacular!
Enjoy your round at Alpine Valley.
Slow play... no rangers in sight to move people along
Course was okay. Pace was slow. I hit a huge rock in the sand bunker on hole 9. (Glad it didn't ruin my club)
Go play it fun course to play bring extra golf balls! And have fun.
course to play.
