No Accountability!
This review is in regards to the Golf Course, and specifically the management and customer service for the golf course. The resort at the mountain has 3 9 hole courses with the foxglove course considered the "signature" 9 hole course. The pinecone course is generally considered the 2nd most favorable course with the Thistle course considered the lowermost of the three courses. It was pretty disappointing to schedule a tee time for the pinecone/foxglove courses only to find out 25% of the way through the foxglove course that a shotgun tournament had been scheduled and that I would have to leave. As I explained to the course ranger who was organizing the tournament I had booked that specific combination of courses and there must be be a mistake. Although I had a written confirmation of my tee time indicating I had booked the pinecone/foxglove courses the ranger had no Idea how to help. I returned to the pro shop as the players of the tournament added additional unpleasantness as they wanted me out of their immediate way. Upon arrival into the pro shop I provided the emailed tee time confirmation reflecting that I had indeed booked the pinecone/foxglove courses. The prop shop attendant, Bryce, could only say that there was some sort of mistake with no other relief. When I asked for a refund, as I was not able to play the courses that I had agreed to pay for, Bryce presented a credit for a future 9 holes. A credit is something that is typically given when acts of mother nature (IE bad weather) prohibit someone from finishing the round of golf. A credit is not something that should even be considered when the course has facilitated the mistake. I stated that I had driven nearly 1.5 hours from Portland and would not have done so without being able to play the signature pinecone course. Bryces' failure to do anything to make up for there error was infuriating. Having worked in the hospitality business its a pretty easy avenue to provide a free round of golf and/or a free meal at the resort restaurant when the business is in the wrong in order to make amends with the customer. Unfortunately, at least Bryce does not understand that nuance of proper customer service. As Bryce refused to refund my less than round of golf I have since had to open a dispute with my credit card company in hopes of some financial reprieve. Mistakes happen and nobody expects perfection but how you treat your customers after making mistakes is an integral part of any business and one that the Resort at the Mountain surely should take heed of.
Frost delay
This is a nice course tucked in around a mountain scenery. The value is nice but if you’re not staying. At the resort, it’s a 45min to an hour drive I had a 1000 am tee time on a Saturday. I arrived and was told there was an hour frost delay. Granted it’s February so I can’t argue with the weather but it’s a learning curve to check before I leave. The problem with a delay is there is not a range to occupy you and other things non staying quests can do. Also, after the delay some fool thought it was a great idea to fertilize the greens on a weekend. So after every hole I had to wipe my putter down from looking like papa Smurf. Do that stuff on a Monday.
If you’re looking for something different with variety as you can play 3 different nines and take a drive this is a decent course for the cost. It’s nothing I would make a monthly visit too.
Was a fantastic day!
The course was in fairly decent condition, considering all the rain and snow that they had a week prior to playing, the greens are real bumpy, but is kind of expected. This time of year, there were some soggy spots, but again expected this time of year! The price for two of us, with a cart was phenomenal and very easy to get out and play! Will definitely recommend to a friend and their friends and so on and so!
Don't waste your money!!
The greens are in the worst shape I've ever seen them! I didn't even finish playing 18 holes!
Nice course
Perfect weather for this time of the year at Mt. Hood! Hi 70's by the time we finished. Challenging layout, wet from the dew when we tee'd off but the sun dried things out nicely. The greens are a bit slow and uneven but after a couple of holes we got used to it. The only issue is the bunkers - definitely need some TLC.
Clean, newer power cart that even had GPS.
Mt hood Oregon resort
This was the 4 th time playing in the past 2 months and
The ground crew has worked hard getting the coarse back
To where it used to be!🤗
My hood resort golf
Had 5 groups making the turn and crowded and slow play to begin but overall very good value! The coarse is improving each time we've played, more workers!👍
Needs mowing
Ok course but not worth book rate $50. Golfnow was $30. Needed mowing & basic maintenance. Definitely not up to the online hype
What happened to the greens?
The greens are rolling so slow. Never have seen them like this. Some cups cut, some not. Dead grass! Bunkers are in bad shape! Not worth the money. Disappointed!
My hood resort
Great value, very few golfers, coarse conditions much improved since we played a few weeks ado!👍
Nice Day
Played here many times- though they profess improvements — not evident yet— greens slow- need to be rolled- some cups we’re not cut correctly- smallish— hardpan fairways some holes
Mt. Hood Oregon Resort
Played this course many times and always enjoyed it except this time it was not worth the $84 plus $30 for the cart. The fairways were in bad shape, fringes around the greens were uneven and the sandtraps had weeds in all of them and had not been raked. Plus over watering created pools of water on some greens and soggy unplayable patches plus alot of ground under repair places
