Woodlands at Lawsonia Golf Course
About
There are two 18-hole courses available at Lawsonia Golf Course in Green Lake, the Woodlands and the Links. As their names would suggest, the courses have a completely different character from the other. Unlike the wide-open, nearly treeless Links, the Woodlands is enclosed by forests of mature hardwoods. The stands of oak, maple, pine, elm, and walnut trees carry not only the course's beauty but they also provide a home to an abundance of wildlife including whitetail deer, hawks, eagles, and wild turkeys. The fairways are densely lined with trees and are made even tighter thanks to the help of 80 strategically placed traps. The layout is considered a modern target golf course with dramatic elevation changes and large, fast greens that are heavily guarded. The second hole is memorable for the historic landmark that serves as its centerpiece. This par 4 plays around a 90-year-old quarry donned with the historic Judson Tower.

Great Course with Great Rate
It felt like we had the whole course to ourselves. The course was in great condition. I think selling lots on some of the holes will detract from the beauty/quality of this course. Sad to see that happen.
Patchy fairways and rough
Staff- improved from my last visit to this course when I played the links course.
Tee boxes- Not level patchy grass
Fairways- patchy not well kept
Bunkers- no crisp edges, a lot of the bunkers are not raked
Greens- Beat up full of mud spots
Holes- There is a really nice elevated par 3 hole on this course which is there signature hole of the Woodland 18 holes and one of the better par 3 hole's I ever played. There is also another a nice split fairway hole with a shot over a ravine that sticks out to me.
Price I paid $55
Conclusion I would recommend trying this course but not for a price higher then $50 a person. The staff is hit or miss on this course, BUT DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS COURSE YOU WILL BE DISAPOINTED.
Wonderful Experience
Plenty of great things about this course. The Woodlands layout is awesome. Would have liked to have a yardage book, as they have laser pointers on the carts, so unless you have played before, you don't know where the hazards are. The beer carts were abundant and very friendly servers. The pro shop is very nice and reasonable prices. The snack shack is accessible from various hole thru the 18, so you have multiple times to access for a quick bite to eat.
This is Lawsonia--you expect the best
Roughs were up which made it challanging but greens need to recover from what must have been winter damage
Well planned course, excellent challenges & manageable !
We really like the course. The staff was super friendly & helpful.
We were unfortunate to play behind a 4some that didn't have a clue as far as golf etiquette or course management. We don't think they ever heard the term "ready golf". Had lots of time to enjoy the scenery tho !!!
Love to play this course, challenging and fun.
Course has lots of challenging holes. Beautiful scenery and fun to play
great condition very pretty
exellent course, great condition. challenging. great fairways and greens. challenging holes. wide fairways very playable course with lots of trees and sand. never a boring hole.
Wisconsin's Best Spot for 36
Wonderful course in perfect contrast to the rolling links style of Lawsonia's Links course. The second hole is one of the best pra fours in the state, with Juthroe Tower overlooking a large quarry that bisects the fairway. Play all 36 at Lawsonia for one of the best overall golfing experiences in the state.
Course was in great condition.
Beautiful course, Loved the laser distance finder, very useful.
Would go there anytime. I love this course. Ranks up with the best. Saw plenty of deer. Also liked the electric carts.
Only complaint was we were not allowed to tee off early even though there was nobody ahead of us.
My favorite course in Wisconsin.
I LOVE this course even though it drives me crazy at times. The staff is super and the course is well maintained. The only downside for me is the noise associated with the home construction that is going on adjacent to a few holes on the course. Playing the Woodlands is a MUST for golf lovers everywhere.
