Songbird Hills Golf Club
About
Opened in 1992, Songbird Hills Golf Club began as the dream of longtime Hartland resident, Hal Hoffman. He started designing the course more than 20 years before construction began in 1990, before he even owned the land. Hoffman persevered and eventually established the course that exists today. There have been some improvements over the years, including redesigning the 17th green and putting in an additional water hazard on the 13th, but overall, Hoffman's classic layout hasn't changed much. The golf course's design takes advantage of the rolling terrain and sparkling ponds. The undulating nature of the terrain gives each hole a unique look and different set of challenges. Songbird Hills Golf Club will give you a fair test, but beginners can still feel confident when approaching the course. As its name would imply, numerous songbirds call the area home. Bluebird houses even serve as the 150-yard markers.

Short but still challenging
The course has several short par fours but they are still a challenge due to the fact that the fairways are tight and there are quite a few doglegs. There was a lot of rain the few days before, and the course was still in very good shape. For the price we paid, I thought it was a great value.
My only complaint, and it's a minor one, would be the course layout is very tight so there were several occasions where balls from adjacent holes hit very nearby.
To many valleys
Course not well marked for carts to get from hole to hole. So many valleys it makes it difficult to know if anyone is in your way when hitting your shot. There were times when we were almost hit with a ball because no one knew we were ahead of them. Just didn't t like the way the course was laid out.
nice course in great shape
nice challenge, not long but accurate placement needed for good approach shot, tricky greens
Songbird Hills - Nice Course!
Nice course, fairly short overall but has some nice nuances that add difficulty, green are often tucked away behind narrow approaches or slight doglegs.
Be careful on the step cart path on hole 15, on a rainy it's easy to lose control of the cart even when being cautious!
Fun to Play
The course was in great shape and the pace was excellent. We were not pushed by the people behind us and we were able to keep pace and finish in about 3 and one half hours. This course is one of my favorite courses to play. Smaller in yardage but many of the holes are challenging to play.
Playable for all levels of golfers.
The course is in very good shape and they continue to make improvements. The course is not long, but the greens will challange the better golfers.
Great bang for our buck
Received a terrific deal via GolfNow and found the pace of play as well as the condition of the course great. It was like we had the whole course for ourselves..never felt being pushed from behind or having to wait on the next tee...maybe the fact that we teed off at 6:40 a.m. by ourselves had something to do with that?
Great early morning course
Each hole is interesting, you'll play along a marsh, in the woods, and on wide open fairways over the 18. You will use a variety of approach shots. Fairways run north & south, so only on #2 were we hitting into the early morning sun. #2 & 4 share a green, so be aware. Enjoyed a pleasant round
Short, but challenging course
Short but challenging, as there are at least a half dozen holes that will get you in trouble if you can't place your tee or second shot.
The course is in great shape, and will test your putting prowess.
The course is in great shape. The course is not overpowering long, but the holes are trickey and the greens roll fast and true and test your putting nerves. Fun Course. Super Great Vaule.
Great course
Song bird is a great course, the greens, fairways were nice green soft grass. I will be back soon
The only down side of course is they only use charge card in pro shop. Every were else is cash only
very nice compared to years ago
Played here for years in outings and never though too highly of it.
They have done a wonderful job on landscaping and grooming the course.
Hilly with some pretty holes but only passable conditions.
This course is in the kettle moraine. Thus several holes are very hilly, and some of them are quite pretty. There are several blind shots that you will have to hit, including your second shot on the first hole if you are an average level golfer. Although the course is very short in total yardage the combination of uphill holes with marginally mowed fairways makes several holes play longer than listed. It took forever to check in and pay our greens fees in the pro shop, but once we got on the course we really moved, finishing in just 3 1/2 hours. The greens were o.k.
Course has some unique holes.
This is definitely a course you want to play more than once. Some holes, have blind landings so course knowledge will improve scores dramatically. Great condition. Excellent greens. Those a short course so bombers will not have as much fun as the average golfer. I would categorize it as a shot makers venue. We will definitely play this course again.
This course has alot of blind shots
The greens were terrible they irrigated them like 2 weeks ago and it was hard to make a 6' put or more, I don't know why they would do that this time of year usually early or late in the season? I feel sorry feel all golfers that played in that outing that day something you wouldn't expect! Otherwise the course was in nice shape and offers a challenge for only 5500 yards.
Good track
This course is a wonderful blend of birdie holes, and take par and run. A somewhat shorter course though still has a true 3 shot par 5. It can be forgiving if you know where to bail otherwise it's a target golfers track. The greens roll true and the undulations will test your nerves.
A really nice course
There is enough challange that you have to up your game. It was a really fun course to play. I plan on going back again.
course was wonderfully maintained and utilizes the natural terraine to its utmost advantage
even thought the course yardage is not long challenge comes from the need for accuracy due to woods, wetland hills and prairie.
value
Love the course, clubhouse, and staff. However, this time the greens were in dire need of attention which was a disappointment
very challenging for a shorter course
course is on the shorter side, but still requires you to use all clubs in the bag. well maintained and very good greens.
