Thornberry Creek at Oneida - Legends Championship Course
About
Situated just outside of Green Bay, Thornberry Creek at Oneida is perched atop one of the highest peaks in Brown County. The club offers 27 holes of golf with the Championship 18 and the original nine-hole golf course. The Championship Course presents plenty of variety, starting and ending with holes that are reminiscent of the Wisconsin Northwoods and a middle section that feels as though you've been transported to Arizona or south Florida. There are more than 70 strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout the golf course as well as 11 water hazards. Risk-reward opportunities are abundant though it is not a terribly punishing course so beginners shouldn't be too intimidated. Locals of the Green Bay area consider this to be one of the best public golf courses in northeast Wisconsin.

Excellent layout
This course has a really nice combination of holes to keep it interesting. Thought the fairways were in great shape, but the greens were a little rough in spots. Overall, I was very impressed with the course and really enjoyed a number of holes that worked their way around the lake area. Also, Hole #1 is one of the best opening holes I've played. One suggestion I have would be electric carts/ GPS for a place this nice. Excellent course at a great price. Thanks again Golfnow!
Lot of different style of holes
The course was in great shape for this time of year.
very pretty course, trees water ,elevation changes, this coures has it all,
I found the course very challenging pretty woods water, long but not too long if going off the appropriate tees, i think I found a favorite course in the north
This is a well maintained golf course
They blow the leaves from the course which helps locate balls with fall golf. The greens were aerated recently, but in good condition. Fairways, roughs, and sand traps were in great condition. It is a pleasure to play here.
if you get a chance you must play this
play it you will be happy happy happy if not you don't like golf
Nice challenging course
Great course unfortunately the very first hole is too tricked up. Poor design with an unreachable dogleg. Otherwise the course is very nice.
Great course and very challenging
The course is very challenging and in great shape. The only thing missing was either GPS on the carts or yardage marked on the sprinkler heads would have made this an excellent round. The restaurant / bar was also very good.
decent course benefits from Brown County redoing their greens
I have played this course previous and it hasn't gotten any better. I guess Oneidas taking it over really letting this course slip bad, they act like its a private course why clean my clubs after im done some private courses don't do so why do they prefer my clubs not be touched. And the price where its in the 60-70$ range is a joke considering 2 miles up the road Brown County is 30$ for walking easily cant at Thornberry too long between holes to do so.I guess with Brown County redoing there greens they think people wont care. But next year it will be back to usuall where County is the class of the area, even better the Oneida country club and price as well. I guess you have to decide wanna pay 65 with cart or walk one of the best tracks in the Midwest for 30?
Neat Course
Thornberry Creek is a nice course. It has a nice blend of water, tree-lined holes, and more open holes. It also has several tee boxes. The only downside were the wet greens. Since the greens were a bit wet and soft, they were a bit chewed up from cleat marks. Other than that, the speed of the greens was fine.
NEEDS WORK!!
I played in the third week of July. I thought the course had many cool holes and the course spreads across a lot of land. However I was surprised on the greens and tee boxes they were SUPER soft and had a lot of ball marks.. Its too bad for the course, cause it is a really neat track but the members or guests are not repairing ball marks on a already soft green. The round took a while, a combination of slow play and long course. I got a "HOT DEAL" price otherwise their prices are to high wouldn't recommend..
Very difficult-bring lots of golf balls
Roughs are deep and dark and unforgiving. Some tees are beat up and many divots on the greens. Players are not doing their share of divot repairs. Driving range really needs some attention where you tee up. Irons only because the range is short. Balls are really beat up. Course is not on my favorites list.
Challenging course with great design.
18 hole course was well maintained and had some challenging holes. Has a nice little shack half way house with a wonderful view of the water. Paved cart paths and enough restrooms on the course too. I would recommend this course to anyone!
great course, great people!
Had a early morning tee time, before the proshop was open. A staff member let us out early and we paid at the end of the round, great service. The course was in perfect condition and the greens were spot less. A must play if in the area.
The staff was super friendly. The course was in great shape and fun to play. Great food too!
I recommend this track will test your game completly. Challenging but fair. Fun time.
Staff
I golf this course a few times a year and the staff is usually friendly but today they were busy and when I checked in with the Golf Now voucher Ithink the staff member saw how much we paid he took the paper crumbled it up,threw it in the basket, gave me the keys. I think he was not pleased with how much we paid and he was not friendly this time.
Great value; a few greens still have winterkill, though fairways were in general excellent. Staff were phenomenal, especially Greg in the Pro Shop
Very good experience overall. A couple of greens need work with some winterkill; greens could be trimmed a bit more. I live along the course, and found 2 girls playing volleyball/kickball on green 17 one evening, and asked them to refrain, so may need to increase course patrolling to assure this is a one time event.
Very well maintained. Good layout.
One of the toughest starting holes you'll ever encounter. Great finishing hole. Great condition.
Wonderful course with plenty of challenges
Course was in usual spring condition with some poor fairway areas, but greens were good and tough. The course was busy and there was a slow group in front of us and this course is not conducive to passing. I'll be back...
WOMAN FRIENDLY COURSE
Great course in Green Bay area, must play--always in great shape!!! Beautiful clubhouse with great food and sports bar.
Great variety of holes, some wooded, some with water hazards, sand traps and large greens.
Woman friendly course, tee boxes are set up nicely, not just tucked on the side out of the way of the men's tees like some courses. Plays to a good length for women too
Love this course
This a well maintained course that you can search for deals and play at around $40. This course curves through nice neighborhoods and has a lot of holes that involve water which I love. I drive an hour to this course and I'm never disappointed.
