Horicon Hills Golf Club
About
Horicon Hills Golf Club (formerly known as Rock River Hills Golf Club) is situated along the banks of its namesake river, incorporating water into 13 holes. The course is target golf at its finest, weaving through a gently rolling landscape studded with mature trees that provides a home for the abundant wildlife. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but the layout is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to encountering plenty of water, there are also several strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The golf course is mostly flat although there are a few subtle, but tricky contours. Perhaps it’s the secluded location that has helped Horicon Hills Golf Club to remain one of southern Wisconsin's best-kept secrets or maybe it's a more concerted effort by local fans to keep it that way.

Some challenging holes
Course in great shape. Pace of play could have been a little faster. This course is player friendly.
good fun trek, tee need work, greens nicw slow
nice value played early am, so pretty quick, nice challenge short course,
playable for low and high handicap golfers
Pros The course has several senic holes, some along the Rock River. The length of the course makes it suitable for higher handicap golfers, but the course can be challanging for better golfers.
Cons The tee boxes could use some work and the roughes were very dry and hard.
Great weather, great course.
Rock River Hills is a great golf course. Fun to play, and the staff is friendly and on the ball, no pun intended.
Beautiful Course...Staff very accomodating..
I had a 9:28 tee time originally, but went to wrong course (Rock River Country Club). I called clubhouse and was told I could still get on at golfnow rate around 11. Arrived at 10:10 and teed off at 10:27, just awesome service. Course was in great shape. The course had a good variety of doglegs, elevation changes, tight fairways and wide fairways. There are three or four holes on this course that I found to be just beautiful golf holes. I don't live close, but I will make it back to this course once or twice a year going forward for sure.
Decent enough course
Beautiful course but the 1st and 2nd cut are pretty grown and need to be mowed a little lower. Constantly lost balls in the rough since they were overgrown. Also the greens were so fast, maybe water the greens so theyre better playable.
This course has some great T boxes with great views
We enjoyed the front nine. We were not rushed and the two-some in front of us kept a nice pace. When we made the turn, evidently a golf league started and they were scattered all over the course. All of a sudden, we had numerous people behind us and in front of us that were not there when we started. We should have been told about the league .
Great views, nice people.
When we played there was a thunderstorm the night before, so the course had some holes with some standing water in fairway.
The greens were a little rough, due to the rain.
We like the rollings hills and the great views. The 10 hole has a great look with the fairway having a right to left slope. The 13 hole par 3 is a great downhill hole with water to the left. Had a great time. Nice course, would go back anytime.
beautiful couse
course is located on the beautiful rock river. rolling hills with mature trees make this course one of my favorites.
Great course for the money
Normally in great shape, but was a little wet in spots due to lack of heat and sunshine - not the course's fault. Greens were excellent as usual. Sand was nicely groomed. Some tee boxes were a little rough, but I bet they'll improve.
Great value
While the drought last year affected a lot of courses, Rock River Hills is in the process of bringing this course back to pristine shape. Great Job!
Well taken care of course with a nice variety of holes
Well taken care of course with a nice variety of holes. the greens were fast and chalenging. it was my first time playing this course but it will not be my last.
course layout a challenge...always in great shape
We've played RRHills a number of times and never been disappointed. Staff is always friendly and accomodating, and conditions always above par. Would recommend RRHills to anyone frome beginner on up. I enjoy taking my wife with me because the layout allows for the shorter hitters to enjoy as much as anyone else. Great value.
Not an easy course if you're off the fairway. Lots of holes to score or to lose strokes
Greens are great. Most fairways are good, but some are lacking better grass or the grass is cut too short.
