The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

Played this course many times. Always in good shape. Gets busy in the nice weather but not crowded at all today. Only issue was they have no power carts in the winter which must be a new thing. So thought I was going to be riding but ended up walking. Fortunately weather was great but my old knees were a little sore!
good conditions, terrible experience
while it was a beautiful day and the conditions were good, it was an awful experience. tee times were literally 4min apart, so we had a 6 hour pace of play. there was no ranger to facilitate a decent pace, total lack of awareness and etiquette from other golfers. really disappointing. could have been a great experience, but will not be returning as waiting on every single tee box for 15+ minutes is no way to play.
Tight fairways at best. 1-4 you're almost on top of each other. And it isn't much better as you continue thru the course

A quality local course
I enjoy this course. It’s in great condition with some good obstacles.
Great course for value
Fun course to play. Well maintained course, greens and tee boxes. Very open. Not many difficult holes. Some greens can be challenging. No cart person on Friday.
Avoid on weekends!
I've never written a review until now! Course was heavily mismanaged. Teetimes were backed up for over 40 minutes because they ran out of golf carts. Round was over 5 hours. Pace of play was non existent. No range, no putting green. This course is suited for those who want to have a drink with friends and aren't seriously playing.
On the plus the course was in pretty good shape for the play. Lots of parking and restaurant looked good. Although didn't eat there.
I would say if you wanted try here look for a weekday slot.
