Blue Spruce at Brighton Dale Links
About
Brighton Dale Links boasts 45 holes that stretch across beautiful rolling hills covered with natural wetlands and studded with mature forests of deciduous trees. There are two 18-hole golf courses available, Blue Spruce and White Birch, as well as Red Pine, which is a nine-hole par-36 course. Blue Spruce is the shorter of the two championship courses and it is slightly more player friendly but both offer a challenging round. There are several large lakes that come into play on Blue Spruce. One of the most memorable holes with water is the tricky par-5 15th, which wraps around a large hazard. In addition to the trees that frame the holes, there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greens. Brighton Dale Links is definitely a course that will test your accuracy.

Nice Parkland Courses
Had not ventured out to the Brighton Dale facilities in several years but it was a welcome return. Well run by the Kenosha County Parks the facility has 45 holes of golf to be enjoyed. It was like visiting an old friend....enjoyable parkland golf with some pine forests, water and tight tree lined driving holes to keep your attention. Brighton Dale experienced some flooding issues with all the rains this season but we found the Blue Spruce Course to be very playable and in decent shape. If does suffer from some sameness as many green sites seem to have a trap in front in play that's not maintained and all of the sand traps are dirt and hard pan. Fairways do have some minor brown out issues but grasses are of proper length. Greens were okay I'd call them decent with good speed but some greens have ball mark issues as well as a tad of bump/wandering to them....but still very enjoyable to play on. Tee boxes grasses are very sponge like and several are not level so you have to pay attention to where you tee your ball up. Very buggy so bring some spray.
Decent dated large clubhouse with awesome brats and New Glarus Spotted Cow....it's Wisconsin! Discovered they do have a locker room with showers in the lower level. Range mats only and good sized practice putting/chipping green. Both the 18 hole courses are worth a play and it's a shame the Red Pine nine holer is not part of one of the 18's....in my opinion the very best nine of the complex with some nice elevation changes/doglegs and challenge.
Brighton Dale is a very good value...if you look around on the net they have play all day specials, reduced rates, etc....and next time maybe I'll just have to play all 45. It's that pleasant. $25-$30 value....3.25 stars overall and could get closer to a 4 if they paid any attention at all to the sand traps.
Course in great shape
For all the rain earlier in July, the course is in awesome condition. Tee boxes,,fairways and greens are in tip top shape. Loved playing the course.
Thank you
Cold and Wet For July
Best deal was $19 with fees $24 @6:45am on GOLFNOW. If there are no deals except paying between $30-50 bucks. The temperature was 60-65 degrees very chilly and misty. This summer has been the wettest ever and Kenosha has been hit hard. The course had water damage on the fairways but none on the greens. The greens were in good condition, a lot of ball marks. I don't understand why some golfers don't fix ball marks? I fixed at least 4 per hole. No one was in front or behind us. Played 18 with my buddy w/cart and took us less than 3hrs. Like playing this course blue(18), white(18), and red (9). I recommend this course to anyone that plays.
Thanks for fixing ball marks that is a great help. Come see us again soon.
Great course in great condition
I've only played the Blue Spruce twice, but I really enjoyed it. The back 9 seems to play a little easier than the front (at least to me). There is a snack stand at the turn which is good if you want a brat or hot dog. The greens play fast. It's definitely a tougher course than I'm used to playing, but I enjoy the challenge. They have a driving range and a nice bar/grill with an extensive menu.
Thanks glad you enjoyed your day.
Thank you
Always a great time
We have played both the white and blue courses and it is always enjoyable. Tucked away in the country the course is always quiet with an exception of a couple of holes near the road. Variety of holes that present a different challenge every tee. We will always make a trip here as the conditions are great.
Thank you look forward to seeing you again soon.
Thanks
Thanks
great place
always enjoy the course and staff
Thank you
Pace of play
We liked everything about the course. The only problem we had is the pace of play. We found ourselves waiting on 15 of the 18 holes. At least 7 holes, we had to wait 10 minutes or more as the group in front of us hasn't teed of yet. Frustrating to not maintain any pace regarding play.
Slooooooow pace!
It's seems like a nice enough course, but the term ready golf did not apply the entire morning. We had to quit after 13 holes because it had already taken us 3 hours to play. There is no reason for a slow pace on a Saturday morning, unless you don't belong out on an 18 hole golf course!
I PLAYED HERE
very nice course. well maintained. But as with all courses thees last 4 or 5 years, the sand traps are hard packed.
this is a long course, and relativity tight in places. enjoy playing it 4 or 5 times a year.
a added plus of this course is that there are 45 holes. haven't p[played the red nine yet, but both white and blue are great courses.
Hot, humid, a nice breeze and a welcome rain after the 13th hole
What could be better for a day of golf than the Blue Spruce. From tee box to green it was in very good condition. The cart girl came by 4 times which is always welcome. After the round we enjoyed a brat and beverage.
Great Time
Had a really great time with my son, brother, and nephew. Fun and challenging course to play. The Tee Boxes were pristine and the rest of the course was excellent. The one and only draw back was that other golfers evidently don't know enough to repair their ball marks. I repaired several on every green. Overall is was excellent in every respect.
Nice Course.
Course was in really good condition with the exception of the bunkers and slow greens. I will excuse the slow greens because it rained the day before. The bunkers did not have enough sand and were not raked.
Love this course
Always a great round on the blue course...great weather as well...one suggestion making food available to those coming off 9 instead of driving back to the clubhouse and losing your spot
Everything was smooth
I really enjoyed

Course it great shape
Highly recommend any of the courses at Brightondale. Great course and great staff.
Beautiful and challenging
The course condition was fantastic, especially considering they recently aerated the greens and less staff available in the fall. I golfed with a buddy and we played the blue course, last week we played the white course, both are equally challenging, but not so difficult that an intermediate golfers such as us couldn't enjoy it and shoot respectable rounds, mid 40"s. The fairways are in excellent shape, although you will fight some leaves at this time of the year. You never get tired of the holes because they are so different. Love Brighton Dale. Will be back.,
