Petrifying Springs Golf Course
About
Petrifying Springs is the flagship Kenosha County Parks. It is the oldest and largest park in the system, enjoying a stunning landscape of deciduous trees and rolling green hills. The 18-hole golf course was opened in 1936. Enclosed by abundant trees, the course is scenic to say the least. The peacefully secluded atmosphere provides an ideal round of golf. The layout boasts a "sporty" design that is challenging but playable. The fairways are lined with trees and strategically placed bunkers frame the well manicured greens. There is the occasional water hazard one a few holes but water does not pose a major threat. Petrifying Springs is not the most formidable test, but it is great for a casual round with a spectacular setting. The golf course is also one of the area's better values.

Great golfing experience for the average golfer
Beautifully scenic golf course, lots of hills , not too difficult.
Best course conditions of the year.
my hats of to the staff and crew of this facility, the clubhouse crew was friendly and inviting, the resturant staff was entertaing as well as providing a great snack at the turn and the grounds crew has done a remarkable job around the facility. The grass in the fairways was beautiful and the green conditions were impeckable the course was in absoultely beautiful shape... cant wait to come back again and especially in the fall and enjoy the colors that mother nature will bring to the trees.
Course was in good shape considering the recent rainfall
We played 18 holes (twosome) on a Saturday morning at 706 and completed the round in less than 3 1/2 hours.
A short, open, tree-lined course with excellent greens.
This course is the epitamy of what a "municipal" course can be.
Owned by Kenosha County, new management has cleared many trees and a great deal of brush to allow wayward balls to be put back in play. An employee won a top-of-the-line green mower in a raffle at a golf course management expo and the greens roll true.
The course normally plays in 3 - 3 1/2 hours, but on weekends mid and late morning tee times can stretch to 4 1/2 - 5 hours.
The course is particularly beautiful during fall colors.
