Marshfield Country Club
About
Opened in 1923, Marshfield Country Club was one of the first golf courses in the area. There have been many changes over the years, including opening to the public in 1965 and the addition of another nine holes in 1974. At just over 6,000 yards, it's a short course by modern standards but it's no pushover. The greens are known for being challenging and they are also some of the truest and smoothest putting surfaces you'll find in the area. Though length may not be required, accuracy and course management are essential. The hazards at Marshfield C.C. are mostly provided by the existing landscape, including the meandering creeks, mature trees, and rocky outcroppings, which are complemented by several strategically placed bunkers. Each hole offers a different test, beginning with a tough par 4. This dogleg left hole has a stream that cuts right through the center.

Decent course that could use some work
The tee boxes are hard as a rock (which is crazy after all of the rain). The fairways are like a washboard. They are very bumpy and it is hard to get a good lie. Some fairway have a red brick and a white brick to mark yardage. However, we could not find the markers on most fairways and without stakes marking the yardage to the green, it is impossible to hit shots to a specific distance. Very frustrating not knowing yardages on most holes. The clubhouse is very nice, but expensive.
Needs some TLC
The course is fun, but a little run down. They do not tend to the bunkers at all and no on site driving range. The course layout is open which makes it better for less experienced players.
Wet
Course was wet. Evidently the owners allow 5-somes and 6-somes - which shouldn't be allowed!! We went through one group of 5 'younger' teenage boys. Plus we saw a group of 6 'younger' teenage boys on the course
Sand traps....
...need alot of work... they are hard and crusty. But the maintenance guy said they will be working on them. It's early in the season .
Decent public course, but it needs some work
Played today in excellent weather conditions. The greens are small, but in decent shape. All of the tee boxes were a mess. The tee boxes were not level, most didn't have much grass remaining, and were hard as a rock. Many fairways were like mogul runs with various bumps and ledges that were difficult to navigate with a cart. We won't be going back there this year and probably most of next year.
Needs work
Tee box extremely hard to place tees with very little grass. Greens too dry and hard to hold an incoming ball since most are domed or slanted. Fairways were dry and not well mown.
Decent public course that could use some work.
The tee boxes are a mess. Every tee box is uneven and hard as a rock. Many fairways are rutted, crossed by swales, and very uneven. Greens were good (fast and true).
MCC
All love here. Just need to get the clippings cleaned up to make it complete
