New Richmond Golf Club - Old Course
About
Located just 30 miles northeast of St. Paul, New Richmond Golf Club offers one of the area's most popular and most challenging layouts. There are two courses available at the club, the 18-hole Old Course and the reversible nine-hole, par-36 Links Course. The Old Course sprawls across 173 acres of gently rolling hills dappled with mature trees. The Willow River meanders through the layout, cutting through the fourth, fifth and seventh holes. The trio serves as New Richmond's own "Amen Corner," featuring a challenging mix of water and sand that will test the skills of even the best players. The par-4 fifth hole is in fact the no. 1 handicap hole with not only the river on the right but also a pond on the left. New Richmond Golf Club is also known for having the "Best Practice Facility in Western Wisconsin," which includes a 32-station driving range and expansive chipping and putting greens.

worth the drive
This course was recommended by a golf buddy. He was right. The course has an excellent mix of challenging and moderate holes. The course was in perfect condition (maybe because a tournament was scheduled for the afternoon). The weather was wet and so was the course. There were two holes that were cart path only because of fairway softness, so not much roll. The bent grass greens were good with subtle and not so subtle undulations. I will go back again.
nice course
The course was in great shape except the just punched the greens it was like playing plinko when you putted.
greens are perfect
Very nice course. If I lived closer I would become a member!
Great course!
Course was in amazing shape and the staff was extremely friendly. First time I played the course and I will for sure be playing it again soon.
Love this place
I would recommend going during the week though. I usually do, but the last couple times I went on Friday and Saturday and it was very slow.
Day on the course
Had a wonderful day at New Richmond Golf Club. And such a deal thru Golfnow.com.
Great Time
The course in great condition. Very scenic and a touch of northern minnesota course feel.
Excellent Facility-Course reflects weather conditions.
I was very surprised by the quality and well-maintained overall condition of the course considering the recent weather. The course is interesting and the layout is well thought out. I was very pleased with the challenge and completely enjoyed the outing and experience.
Still worth the drive from the Twin Cities
I have been plying New Richmond a few times a season for more than 20 years. It is still bearutiful and challenging. The staff is always polite and gracious, each with a good sense of humor. I have never been to New Richmond without seeing deer, wild turkeys during the round. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day.
I will make it a more frequent golf destination. I do appreciate the occasional bargain on Golfnow.com
Course very well kept and in great condition.
Course was in fabulous shape, I can tell it gets a lot of play, because the day I played it was raining hard and it was still busy.
Too much rain lately
The course is a gem in Western Wisconsin. However, recent rains have made holes four through seven unpleasant to play with standing water in fairways, roughs, and on cart paths. The rest of the course is in fine condition, and the greens are very true. The Links Course next door is highly recommended. An enjoyable nine holes open to the wind with very light play during the week.
Looks like it was in great shape just to much rain to play
We were rained out course looked in great shape hope to play it soon. I had to call Golf Now to get my charge returned and it was not an issue they called the course and I was told my CC would receive a full credit
very good course / some great holes
Rough is very thick - keep ball in fairway
small greens - ball rolls very nice
No 5somes on a Friday or any other time for that matter.
Course and greens are in excellent shape. Pace of play was not I was hoping for. It's tough to see slow play and then you realize that there isn't a ranger in site and 5somes are ahead of you on a Friday morning. The group in front of us fell two holes behind(not the fivesome)....had to pull out early.
That's tough to do when you have a nice round happening and your beating down your opponent.
Awesome practice facility - get there early so you can sharpen the skills.
Beautiful course
I didn't feel this was overly challenging but enjoyed it very much. There are a lot of tree lined holes which makes it a very scenic track. I hope to be back again before the season is out.
great track
excellent greens saw beverage cart once, but truly awesome older course with lots of trees.
Fun
This course is great!! Will be playing it more often.
Slick greens
Over all, considering the late spring, the course was in very good condition. The greens were rock hard and very difficult. Saw the cart girl once, and at the turn and after the round there was nothing to eat except for a candy bar or chips, seems like they could have been a little better prepared. It seems tee times were about 6 minutes apart and we ended up waiting on almost every shot the entire round which is why it took 4 and 3/4 hours.
I like the way the course layout.
The course is wonderful n really has a goid layout so that each hole had it's own challenge. I return to play again. .
"This might be our last chance to play this year....."
Course was actually exceptionally well maintained for the time of year. This was an odd day to play. Temp only 41. Wind gusts to 20mph plus. We had frost delay. Green grass. Deer. Challenging golf. Loved it. New Richmond has always been good to us especially considering we come from Minnesota! :)
