Need to be better at scheduling
Tee'd off 20 mins late due to facility not having carts available. By hole 3 there was a 5 min wait at every tee box. By hole 8 there was 4 groups backed up. They over book and do not enforce pace of play. Took 4 1/2 hours to play 14 holes and didn't get to finish our round.
Pace of play continues to be problematic.
I’ve played Wildhorse a number of times. Every time, pace of play becomes an issue. Even with marginal course conditions. By the time we hit #14, we were stacked up behind a party on the tee, a party on the fairway. And a party on the green. Delays and congestion seem to be an going problem at Wildhorse.
Pace of play Wednesday morning is really slow. Be patient and you’ll have a nice time.
2:45 min for 9 holes
Started on the back 9. Took two hours and 45 minutes to play nine holes. I guess there was six groups of foursomes moving God awfully slow. Four groups on one hole multiple times. Marshall informed us it’s like this every Wednesday with this group. Doubt, I’ll be coming back unpleasant first experience.
Course in pretty good shape
All in all the course was in pretty good shape. There was surprisingly a lot of water in the fairways and rough but maybe they saturated the course in prep for how hot it has been. Greens were not fast but rolling good. I think $75 is a little steep for this course but not horrible value.
Entire course was fantastic. Aeration is passed and the greens were running true. Great day
Gem near Sacramento
What a treat to hit out of bunkers with soft sand. Plenty of water and environmental hazards to keep your attention.
Staff is amazing!
Wildhorse has the best staff in the area! Taylor and Mike are by far the most inviting and friendly people you’ll ever meet while checking in. The course is always accommodating, always a good time, and the staff is always ready welcome. There isn’t a course in Sac/Yolo/Solano county that will treat you better than wildhorse.
Course condition was average but bunker condition is very poor.
Fun track but short.
First off, the greens are in fantastic shape. Very smooth and well kept. Highlight of the course. Downside? Bunkers everywhere and they’re gigantic. That’s my problem if I go into them, but it’s the course’s problem if they’re concrete dirt blocks where you learn nothing. They need to be filled in or made smaller if they’re not going to upkeep them and make them playable. Fairways are generally well kept with some bare spots that need attention. Most of the fairways are fair but could benefit from widening as they’re so narrow it’s almost a joke. No one is a pro here so why not make them a tad bit more accessible. Plenty of areas that were fenced off that could easily become part of the track with very little work.
