Krooked Kreek Golf Course
About
Krooked Kreek Golf Club has a scenic location nestled between the bluffs of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway and the glacial eskers of western Wisconsin. The aptly named course has a creek that zigzags haphazardly across the landscape. The golf course was opened as a nine-hole course in 1990 and the back nine was added five years later. The front nine sprawls across mostly flat terrain and the generous greens offer some rooms for error, but you'll have to be careful because the layout gets tougher on the back nine. The greens are much smaller on the back side and they are much more undulating, making accuracy and thoughtful course management the key to a good score. Wetlands come into play on 11 holes at Krooked Kreek Golf Club, and there are also strategically placed bunkers throughout.

A nice course.
This is a shorter course, which will force (allow??) you to leave the driver in the bag on multiple par 4s. Instead, this is a position-based course, where a 3 iron followed by a 7 iron is the most logical path to the green. The deer flies were out in force, but the course has taken measures to deal with the pests. I do recommend bug spray and or a hat when playing.
Our day at Krooked Kreek
It has been a few years since I have played Krooked Kreek and I didn't know what to expect. When we arrived the staff was very friendly both in the clubhouse and on the course which always makes the experience better. The course itself is interesting to say the least. The creek that winds through most of the front 9 provides nice scenery but also a lot of quirky golf holes. A few blind tee shots and a lot of very undulating greens make this course a challenge. Then you get to the back 9....Holes 11-13 are something else. 11 is a very short par 4 requiring less than drive to setup a short approach to a near-impossible green surrounded by trouble. 12 is a short, scenic par 3 and then 13 is just crazy. A short par 5 that starts with a tight tee shot (hazard left, OB right) and then if your drive isn't perfectly positioned you are playing a layup (usually blind) to get past the trouble at the corner only to finish with another wild green. 14-18 settle down and present a decent, fun finish to your round. The course was in average shape, the greens rolled ok but the fairways were a bit shaggy. Given the value, the course condition was on par.
After the round the staff was great while we snacked and had a few post-round beverages.
Great condition
Played on a overcast and drizzly day. Corse was pristine!! Worst problem was shooing geese of of a couple of greens. Though slow from rain, greens were true. Will play again soon!
Challenge and value
Large manicured greens and plenty of challenge requiring you to strategize your shots. Imperative to stay in fairway and there are many opportunities to shoot over hazards. Bring extra balls. Just played 18 holes in a twosome in less than three hours. Nice!
Friendly helpful staff.
Good time with friends
Had a good day with friends that played course for the first time. I’ve played this course a lot. Friends enjoyed the course. Would play again.
Also a great time playing this course
Once again was a great day. Course is in great shape. Worth the 50 minutes to get there. Also can get out early morning.
Fun course
Great course with a lot of character...enjoyed the round !!
Chase
1st Timer for KK. We had 1st Tee Time and conditions were outstanding.. The course plays for all Levels with challenging holes. Expect to play your Driver and woods a lot. And rewards if you hit straight. I will be back again this year. The wild life walking and flying around is a great plus.
