Course was great despite wet conditions
Played on Saturday July 15 morning. It poured the previous day and hours before my tee time. Didn't think carts would be allowed when I woke up in the morning. But to my surprise, when I arrived carts were allowed to drive anywhere! Greens rolled true and fast despite the rain the night before! I couldn't believe it! Course was in magnificent shape! From the other courses I played in the surrounding area, Downingtown is in the best condition and worth every penny. Great beer selection in the snack bar too! Will definitely be back in the near future.
Good course, annoying there isn’t a walking rate
Solid course in good shape. Just really stupid there isn’t a walking rate. Paying $50 to walk in the winter is not worth it.
Too slow pace
Well as within the past 2 years , it was too overcrowded! I think too many bookings ! Though this was the slowest pace we have ever tried to endure .My partner and other 2 Gents we got paired with who saud they were regular s, all Quit after H16..It was the 1st time in A Very long time of Golfing, we Never saw a Ranger .,
Everything he touches, he makes better!
Downingtown is fun to play. It's in the best shape it's been in in years. Bunkers could use a bit more sand, and the hairy grass tongues need to be cut back (literally almost lost two balls in them today). But staff is friendly, in-house restaurant and pro shop team too. No carts in the parking lot - be mindful of that (they get a lot of corporate traffic - some folks don't know any better. Can't wait to see what Jaws does with Back Creek in Delaware.
Excellent experience
I have been playing Downingtown golf course for over 30 years and a member most of that time. Firstly the golf staff are friendly and welcoming. They always try to give the best experience for the players. Also the staff at the half way house and restaurant are excellent. With the Fazio designed course you will always be challenged.
Fun layout
Always liked the layout, fun to play.
Greens were a bit slow. Tee boxes were hairy, and not very level.
Great time
Had a great time at Downingtown Country Club. Thought the course was beautiful from tee to pin. Greens in great shape. Played with a member, Bob, who was an absolute gem of a person. 9/10 can't wait to play again
Ron Jaworski can fudge himself
Hey Ron Jaworski, you can’t just double the prices of your courses and think that makes them double the value. Your courses are NOT that good. It’s absolutely embarrassing to charge people 100+ to play this track. Pace of play is terrible. Greens are slower than time itself. Sand traps are basically made of clay. And the course is closed any time it has rained the last few days. It’s worth $60 tops. Again, go fudge yourself Ron Jaworski
Late notice of no carts
Course called an hour before tee time to say they weren't allowing carts everyone had to walk or you could cancel. We had no other options to play anywhere because of the late notice and staff was rude.
