Portage Country Club
About
Portage Country Club is situated along the scenic shores of Swan Lake. Opened in 1930, the golf course has a traditional layout that is both challenging and playable. At 6,356 yards from the back tees, it is shorter than most championship courses you will find today but the layout still has plenty to offer besides length. There is a mix of holes that are wide-open and some that are framed by stands of mature trees. The rolling terrain provides subtle but tricky undulations in the greens and fairways as well as the occasional double-tiered green. One of the most memorable holes for both its level of difficulty and the scenery is the par-4 third. This no. 1 handicap hole plays along the lake and forces you to keep a close eye on the target.

Portage
Very nice course, well taken care of. You can tell the people care about their guests. Will be back.
Very Challenging.
Course was in great shape for so late in the season.
TOILETS
OUTDOOR TOILETS ARE ALWAYS DIRTY AND FULL THEY ARE NOT AT ALL SERVICEABLE THEY STINK
Easy course, good condition equal low score
If you need a low score to regain some confidence I recommend Portage Golf Club. Grass and greens are good, half of the greens were pretty flat. Nice folks, so go have some fun instead of frustration.
Great course at a great price!
Great course, well kept and at an incredible price. Some challenging holes but many friendly, open holes too. Would highly recommend!
Velvet greens!
We thought that this course is the best we've played on in a long time. It's so well groomed and the greens are beautiful. Downside: when you miss a putt there's nothing to blame but your own bad aim! I would give this course 5 stars if the holes were easier to follow. Thanks to some "regulars", we were redirected to the 2nd hole and later to a couple of others. It would be very easy for a "first timer" to miss a few holes due to inadequate signage in places. We enjoyed a 5* lunch at the restaurant. Great menu and so delicious!
Nice course
Very nice course. Good value..Have golfed there several times and always enjoyable. Staff was nice and friendly. Great average golfer course with just enough challenging holes.
Good Course for the Money
I like the course and will play it again. The greens are tough to putt on, up, down, side hills. Not many straight putts. It made it fun and very challenging. I want to make sure you understand the Greens are nice and roll well. If you are above the hole, good luck on the putt, which I found my self above the hole a lot. Next time I will make sure I am short of the flag. At least that is what the plan will be.
