Established in 1922, Shawano Lake Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Wisconsin. It is a longtime favorite of locals who have coined the course's nickname "Shalagoco." The course sits along the north shore of its namesake lake, enjoying a landscape of gently rolling hills studded with mature trees. The trees line the undulating fairways and there are strategically placed sand traps lurking along the greensides. Water also has a prominent presence on the golf course, coming into play on eight holes. At a little over 5,700 yards, the course is a manageable length but still provides plenty of challenges as well as a scenic backdrop. Shawano Lake Golf Course is a popular place for tournaments not only since it offers a highly playable round, but also for its casual atmosphere.

OK

Booked a 2 o'clock tee time through Golf Now. When we arrived to check in we had to go the bar to get someone. There wasn't anyone in the pro shop. The course itself is challenging. Plenty of dog legs and blind uphill shots. If you're not good at hitting the ball straight your in for a long round and a lot of lost balls. The fairways are very hard and your ball tends to bounce and roll a long way. The greens however were soft and very consistent to putt on.

A very nice course.

Although conditions were dry, the fairways were excellent and the greens were mounded and challenging. The tall pines are very nice. They did not have a drink cart or water on the course but offered vending machines near the bathrooms if you wanted a cold drink. We will definitely go back.

challenging, fun course.

We had a good tme on this course. Makes you think about each shot. Greens are pretty small and need some attention. Temporary green on hole 10. Staff was friendly and very accommadating.

Ok to play on a hotdeal, pass on full price play

Some of the greens were looking ugly and in need of some love. It played like the designer worked hard to fit 18 holes in the available space.

Given the lack of courses in this area...if you can get this on a "hotdeal" take advantage of it...but I wouldn't pay the full rate to play.
