Arizona National is Tops!
Greeted in the Pro Shop by Sean who took care of us in a friendly, professional manner. Always a good first sign!
The course and greens are in excellent shape. This RTJ JR layout is built to challenge your game. Bring some patience and a few extra balls.
Wildlife, views, vegetation all add to the overall experience. We look forward to getting back soon.
The course is is top shape. Highly recommend this course to all.
Awesome course but really slow pace
Took 5 hours. Tee’d off at 1245. No starter on a Saturday at this time and two foursomes went before us. Had an Online tee time and they changed it the day of. Pro shop closed when we finished so couldn’t use the bathroom or grab a beer. Awesome conditions and scenery !!
Course is overseed and cart path only til next week. Great layout and in good shape. Could use some better signage on the course. New owners and will only get better
Arizona National has fantastic views of the city and mountains. Extreme elevation changes and very wide fairways and rough. Way more grass than most desert courses. The bent grass greens were perfect, rolled true. One of the best, if not the best courses in the Tucson area.
Excellent layout. Great vistas on the course
First time on course but staff was gracious to give us a course layout which helped
Will definitely be coming back
The Top of the Mountain
Breathtaking views of the city of Tucson and the mountains. Some wildlife, but a lot of native plants. Fairways feeling the drought but the greens are in excellent condition. Black tees are tough and fun for single digit handicap players , blue tees are not that far off. Definitely worth money.
Not up to expectaions
The fairways need some work to get more grass going.
The greens were slow and bumpy.
I was not impressed.
Staff picked me up in parking lot. Super friendly staff. Course was in immaculate condition. Played Blue Tees. If you can’t drive 265-275 consistently, I suggest white tees. Lots of wildlife on the course. Javelina, Roadrunners, Gecko’s, and Lizards. Being from the Midwest, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the breathtaking scenery.
Nice course, very slow play!
I was looking forward to playing this course while on vacation. I had heard great things about the layout. The course lived up to it's billing. Great views, each hole was unique. My two major criticisms are the sand traps were in poor condition, full of rocks and the sand was packed down. My other criticism was the pace of play. Five hours and twenty minutes was horrible. I was paired with a couple who are members. They felt so bad about the experience. We were behind a foursome who had no idea how to play ready golf. There was no rangers to keep things moving. I loved the course, but my one chance to play there left me very disappointed.
This course was in bad condition a few years ago and has come back nicely. Mountain scenes from every hole. Short (from the whites) but challenging. A thinking man's course. Greens & fairways are in great condition. I think this is the third nicest course in Tucson behind Dove Mountain & Ventana Canyon, both of which are significantly more money to play. A bargain.
This course was better than expected. Fairways and greens in perfect condition. The views of the valley were picturesque. The greens were in great shape, smooth and rolled well. The only downside was the beverage cart quit at 2:30 (we were on vacation and tee time was at 1:00) and everything was closed when we finished so no dinner and cocktail after golf. Other than that a great deal fr the money.
Only for those that want a challenge
This is a very difficult course for first time players. There are lots of blind shots and lots of long carry over desert(for men; the ladies get a nice break on most holes). The tee areas were imperfect, bunkers were not well maintained, and the greens were average. The fairways were very nice so stay on them! The staff seemed unconcerned about welcoming us (We played 2 other courses the same week and were greeted and treated exceptionally.) The 18th hole is the gem of this course; very beautiful, but the rest of the course does not warrant a visit just to see the 18th. We stopped in the clubhouses after the round, but left due to a sewer like smell. Could not eat in that atmosphere.
Nice track Except...
Course layout great
fairways short n fast
rough lush but playable
greens FAST and true
The only BAD thing is Bunkers horrendous is an understatement...
most have had the sand washed out... hardpan n rocks
kills the overall rating They are not playable!!!
Sad because the course is amazing to play
