Staff picked me up in parking lot. Super friendly staff. Course was in immaculate condition. Played Blue Tees. If you can’t drive 265-275 consistently, I suggest white tees. Lots of wildlife on the course. Javelina, Roadrunners, Gecko’s, and Lizards. Being from the Midwest, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the breathtaking scenery.

I was looking forward to playing this course while on vacation. I had heard great things about the layout. The course lived up to it's billing. Great views, each hole was unique. My two major criticisms are the sand traps were in poor condition, full of rocks and the sand was packed down. My other criticism was the pace of play. Five hours and twenty minutes was horrible. I was paired with a couple who are members. They felt so bad about the experience. We were behind a foursome who had no idea how to play ready golf. There was no rangers to keep things moving. I loved the course, but my one chance to play there left me very disappointed.

This course was in bad condition a few years ago and has come back nicely. Mountain scenes from every hole. Short (from the whites) but challenging. A thinking man's course. Greens & fairways are in great condition. I think this is the third nicest course in Tucson behind Dove Mountain & Ventana Canyon, both of which are significantly more money to play. A bargain.

This course was better than expected. Fairways and greens in perfect condition. The views of the valley were picturesque. The greens were in great shape, smooth and rolled well. The only downside was the beverage cart quit at 2:30 (we were on vacation and tee time was at 1:00) and everything was closed when we finished so no dinner and cocktail after golf. Other than that a great deal fr the money.

This is a very difficult course for first time players. There are lots of blind shots and lots of long carry over desert(for men; the ladies get a nice break on most holes). The tee areas were imperfect, bunkers were not well maintained, and the greens were average. The fairways were very nice so stay on them! The staff seemed unconcerned about welcoming us (We played 2 other courses the same week and were greeted and treated exceptionally.) The 18th hole is the gem of this course; very beautiful, but the rest of the course does not warrant a visit just to see the 18th. We stopped in the clubhouses after the round, but left due to a sewer like smell. Could not eat in that atmosphere.

I’d heard a little about Arizona National and relished the opportunity to play. For Arizona, it was a rather dreary day, foggy and some mist. It had rained quite a bit overnight, so the course played longer than I suspect it normally does. The greens were a bit slower than normal (I was paired with a member, who provided valuable local knowledge). I look forward to playing the course again.

You will find some of the most beautiful views of the mountains and the city at this course . The tees, fairways and greens are perfect. The only issue I had was with the sand traps, they were not raked at all the day I played, were rocky and did not have enough sand in them. It’s a minor thing with how beautiful the rest of the course is. I would recommend this course to everyone!

I title my review because unlike some who post here, I can do just that. This course is one of the finest in the city! Greens are awesome right now and for the most part fairways are green. However, to overlook the tee boxes would not be fair to anyone looking at playing here. From the white tees you will find it hard to find a flat spot to hit from on about 10 of the 18 holes. Other than the tee boxes, it's a great MUST play!

I have to laugh to myself when I read some reviews which seek to find something to complain about. I played this corse twice during the last week of April. I loved it. The first time it beat me up. Long forced carries over desert, some blind shots, and some poor golf on my part. Tees and fairways spotless. Greens faster and tougher than I am used to. For $55.00 greens fees it is a steal. Pro in clubhouse friendly and helpful. I just like to play golf- don't nitpick the small things. I was a single visiting and had a blast. Second time I played decent golf. No complaints here. Try it, and bring some extra golf balls. Pmm

Played the Blues (6340/70.1/139) in slightly more than 3H as a single mid day. The weather was nice, in the 90's, sunny and a little breezy.

After playing here yesterday, I wanted a rematch with this very demanding layout. This time I knew where a few holes went and a few areas to avoid at all costs that were not obvious from the tee. Played better, 1 less penalty and 3 less strokes total that I would attribute almost solely to having seen the course once before.

The severity on this course is from tee to green. Even if you move up to forward tees and avoid a few forced carries off the tee, this course still has about as much trouble as the average golfer could tolerate even on a good day. There would still be numerous long forced carries from fairways to greens. Plus, you are constantly up/down hills with many forced carries and native desert ringing both sides of nearly every hole.

The tees were lush and nicely maintained.

The fairways were very good to play from, mostly lush.

The rough was very lush. Deep enough to be a 1/2 club penalty, especially if trying to advance a longer club.

The sand traps were mediocre, not up to the quality of the rest of the course. Too many rocks and the sand quality was below average.

The greens were flat out nice. Medium speed and firm. Nothing overly severe breakwise, I had a good putting day on these greens.

The customer service was excellent. The cart gal was around numerous times. Very good course, definitely recommended. However, come knowing that even a scratch golfer is likely to get beat up a bit here. Unforgiving on any shots short, left or right is a constant theme on most tee and approach shots on this course.

Played the Blues (6340/70.1/139) in 3H as a single mid day. The weather was nice, around 90, sunny and fairly calm.

My 1st time here, very demanding course. No map on the scorecard, at least 2 holes I had no idea if the hole went left or right from the tee. Constantly up/down hills with many forced carries and native desert ringing both sides of nearly every hole. The severity on this course is from tee to green. Even if you move up to forward tees and avoid a few forced carries off the tee... this course still has about as much trouble as the average golfer wants to see. The tees were lush and well maintained.

The fairways were good, mostly lush.

The rough was very lush. Just deep enough to be a 1/2 club penalty, especially if trying to advance a longer club.

The sand was poor, certainly for a course of this caliber otherwise. Way too many rocks, many of the traps were not maintained that well. The sand quality was at best mediocre.

The greens were very good bordering on excellent. Medium speed and firm. I saw the lines well on these greens, nothing overly severe.

The customer service was excellent. I arrived an hour before my scheduled tee time and they let me go right out. The cart gal was around several times. Good course, recommended. However, know what you are getting yourself in to if you play here.
