Nice Comeback!

This course was in bad condition a few years ago and has come back nicely. Mountain scenes from every hole. Short (from the whites) but challenging. A thinking man's course. Greens & fairways are in great condition. I think this is the third nicest course in Tucson behind Dove Mountain & Ventana Canyon, both of which are significantly more money to play. A bargain.

Jeff - Ontario, CA

Really enjoyed the course but still confused as to why the 11th hole tee shot is completely blind. Overall a very nice place to.play and enjoyed it very much.

Excellent Course Layout Offset by Shortcomings

Three things bothered me about Arizona National. 1. The sand bunkers were basically filled with dirt and some stones vs sand. 2. There was no drink/food cart until about hole 15. Also since hole nine is away from the clubhouse, there was no opportunity for any food. 3. At the required golf price, range balls should have been provided for free vs charging $’s to make another buck.

You need a Ranger in the afternoon

I do enjoy playing here however, you need a Ranger even in the afternoon with tee times. It’s a shame I could have enjoyed it more. Waiting 5 minutes in each hole is not acceptable not just for myself but for everyone. When you watch a golfer place their hands in their hips then something needs to be done. LOL.

My suggestion is to offer 9 holes with reduced greens fee in the afternoon after 3 pm.

At least you don’t walk off of the course with a Resentment.

Great Condition

Greens and fairways in excellent condition. Sand traps are hard and require a different type of play. Unless you are a long ball hitter I would suggest playing shorter tees.

Slow pace of play

Pace of play was extremely slow - no marshal on course. We were a foursome with a threesome in front of us and waiting on every shot.

Great course, but

Arizona National is one step away from being a 5 star course. The layout, fairways, greens, and views are fabulous. However, the “sand” traps are terrible. There just isn’t enough sand in them. Fix that problem and it easily becomes a 5 star course.

Course is great and March is a great time to play. Drinking water was scarse though, and the beverage cart was having tire issues. Bring extra water just in case.

Expecting better course conditions for money

Fairly difficult course without course knowledge. Many blindshots with fairly long carries. Greens are rock hard, don't hold shots, are somewhat inconsistant speeds and leave little margin for error. Several bunkers on every hole that are hard with little sand. Pace of play at twilight was a little slow at 4.5+ hours. Great views, challenging but expected better conditions for the money. Not for the average golfer.

Gorgeous course in the hills

A bit of a drive but worth it. Fantastic value for the layout. 10 min tee time interval spacing.

Difficult course. Blind tee shots, dog legs, tight fairways, elevation changes, water hazards, and strategic pin locations. Multiple times you have to approach over bunkers to a 15 yard landing area. Definitely a unique layout, every hole was fun to play, no two holes were the same.

Outstanding views. Mountain views, city views, clubhouse views. Ended up taking pictures just about every hole at the stunning scenery. Saw a coyote, rabbits, roadrunners, lizards, variety of flora.

Thick rough everywhere, tons of green on this course. Approach shots and chipping will be affected by the rough. Greens were firm and fast. Bunkers needed more sand.

No water bottles provided and the "comfort stations" did not provide cups. Couldn't get the water working at one of the comfort stations - the water machine was sensor-based and the sensor would not pick anything up. Carts had GPS but screens were small. Greens showed slopes and correct pin locations. No food available at the turn.

Starter tried pairing up randoms who were opposite genders in the same cart. A bit confusing to get to the first tee if you haven't played there before. Front side was a par 35.

Touranament

They stuck us in the middle of a scramble charity tournament and play was brutal, over 5 hours.
