Cut the grass and get some sand
I know it’s the week of the US Open, but cut the grass around the greens!
Lack of sand has been a problem for years. I live a mile away and won’t play it unless it’s a last resort.
This course is a great layout
Bunkers much improved since last time playing but round took 5 1/2 hours unacceptable.
Worst pace ever
There was an Outing before us. 6 hours round. Same thing happened when we pkayed there last year. Never played this course again.
Solid Forest Preserve Course
This is the best Forest Preserve course I have played in terms of course layout. The conditions are still dry and not in great shape but it was enjoyable. The pace of play wasn’t great and the course was backed up a lot from the course over booking.
Bunkers are horrible
For such a nice course they need sand now dirt in bunkers. Greens were very good. Also cart person never showed until 9 th hole on front and on 10th and 17th. They need to visit the other homes especially on hot days.
Slow pace of play
It never fails me. Everytime iBooks a tee time I expect 5 hour or more round. Starters allow singles and do not pair up to speed up play. People playing from the tips and hacking away . Starter doesn't tell thm to pick up the ball and move up. It's ridiculous. I go there knowing that because of such a good deal I get on tee off. I will stay away for a while. Probably next year I'll try again. It's a shame.
Tough Course
Dunne is a tough course, but I love the challenge. The greens were good, the fairways were great, the only problem was the bunkers. If they kept up the bunkers this would be my favorite course in the area.
Rough Shape
The course was in very rough shape closer to the greens. The bunkers are still not raked at all. The greens are extremely slow and bumps all around.
Course operator here. Thanks for playing a round with us, and we appreciate your candid comments. We are attending to the bunkers in the immediate future, and with a lot of play during our exceptionally mild winter, we are catching conditions up in some areas. We are always looking to improve the course, so we appreciate your first-hand experience. We hope to see you again soon!
Sand traps
Sand traps were horrible. Maybe for lack of employees, not sure. One thing for sure, the bunkers were not raked or tended to in what seemed to be weeks. Took 2 to 3 shots to get out of them. Just garbage.. The course is another story. I liked it an it was in very good shape.
Course operator here. Thanks for playing George Dunne, and thanks for taking the time to write us a note. The bunkers are high on our priority list, so your comments are in line. Come back soon!
Thank you for your review. We take pace of play seriously and we try our best to suggest which tee to play from but we can't force anyone to play from a certain tee. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope you come back soon so we can make your experience more enjoyable.
