Ledges Golf Club
About
The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley is tucked away in the Pioneer Valley, an area of western Massachusetts known for its lush, rolling hills. It is a favorite amongst locals since it is one of the best values in the region. The course enjoys scenic views that stretch to Mt. Tom and the Holyoke Range. It is on the shorter side at just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, but the dramatic changes in elevation make it seem much longer. Most of the greens are raised with steeply sloped sides, making accuracy essential since missing them by even just a few feet will result in a serious penalty. The golf course has a heavily wooded front nine that seamlessly transitions into a more open back nine featuring links-style holes. The Ledges is a shotmaker's course that offers several interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Ledges Number Four, Par 4, 276. The fairway is narrow, with precious little bail-out to its right. A driveable hole for the bold. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

# Nine, Par 5, 528. These bunkers will snare many an approach shot that is sliced or pushed. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The 10th is a classic downhill par-5 of 564; it’s a three-shotter for all but very long, straight hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The massive bunker that sides green eleven could be a nightmare for those who aren’t all that handy with a sand wedge. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Eighteen (from the left rough): Great finisher where you’ll want to avoid every one of the seven fairway bunkers, including these three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The final hole as seen from its right rough. Getting up and down around this green is no simple task. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Great Course
This is the 3rd time playing there this tear. It’s a great course . Its in fantastic shape. I always enjoy playing there. I’ll be back
Shaggy greens and poorly cut
I have/do played/play here on the regular over the last 15 yrs. The greens on Sunday were shaggy and when they were cut, it was done so poorly that the cut lines were affecting the ball path on putts (almost as if they’d been aerated, but it was mowing lines). Also consistently more expensive than other local options with not much reason to be.
Good condition as usual
Course was in exceptional shape as it was when I played 3 weeks ago. Pro shop was courteous and friendly and starter was as well. Played in a little over 4 hours which wasn't bad considering course was busy. Fairways were pristine but wish greens had a little more pace to them. Look forward to returning.
Great course
Only 4 stars this time, but blame all the rain we've been having. Most holes were cart path only. Makes for a longer than normal round.. Will be going back.
A nice course
The greens were well maintained, not particularly fast. A decent challenge, and worth putting on your list to play when you’re in Western Mass.
Slow slow play
The pace of play was ridiculously slow, often leaving you waiting in between shots close to 10 minutes. There should be a starter or someone keeping the pace. Worst experience I’ve ever had on a golf course and I will not be returning
First Impression, good
Had wanted to try this course on my visits to the area. I was able to find an opportunity to play and do not regret it. The course was in excellent condition, with great views of the surrounding CT Valley area. Look forward to playing again when in the area.
Sandy Greens
I hate paying full price for a round only to show up with the greens covered in sand. No warning at all from the pro shop. Would have played elsewhere.
Great course but...
The ledges is one of the better courses in and around western mass. Always great condition and staff is friendly. Only gripe is I wouldn't have booked a tee time had O been made aware that they dumped sand top dressing on every green that morning. Made no mention of it online and no mention of it as I checked and got the cart key. Made for an interesting day trying to gauge the speed. Oh well can't win them all.
Sanded greens, very disappointed.
The greens were being sanded on this day, we had to wait on several holes for crews to finish. Putting is like being in a bunker, actually there is more sand on the greens than bunkers. The pro shop said nothing , the starter said nothing. In these conditions prices should be reduced, don't pay full price.
I would wait at least a week, before playing this course.

Course is excellent. Challenging especially the rough. Requires good shots. Course management. Highly recommended!!
