Rough but Playable
After reading all the negative reviews on Moss Creek, I decided to play the course as a lark. I expected that I wouldn't play the entire round and just check out the remnants of a formerly nice course.
What I found was a course in mostly playable condition. The front nine was in better shape than the back. Even on the back, I didn't run into anything unplayable. The tee boxes weren't much different from your run-of-the-mill lower tier public course. Fairways were a shade higher than normal. Greens were very slow, but the bare patches other reviews have talked about were very minimal-most greens didn't have them.
I recommended it, but with the stipulation that you roll the ball on the fairway and take relief from the (mostly) unplayable bunkers.
The course is what it is. A very nice layout in below average conditions but worth the play because of the layout, extremely fast pace of play and the low cost. I hope that Moss Creek continues on the road back and gets to the next level soon.
Rough Shape
I guess they are going through a renovation process after tornados last year… course was really bad fairways and greens in bad shape. Hopefully gets better. Met the owner very nice guy. May try again later I. Season to see if improved.
The course is definitely improving.
Most Greens are coming back. Fairways and rough improvements are in better shape than last year. Weed control has improved as well.
Improving
The course suffered some setbacks due to a tornado. It is in a rebuilding process I can say it has improved quite a bit from the first time I played it this year. If they keep up the progress they have made by 2025 it should be back to its former glory. I will continue to play here and I would recommend that others do the same.
Areation time
Greens were slow because of sand but overall nice day to pkay gokf
Great as Always
Staff was wonderful and helpful as always. Love the layout and the fact that a local resident is putting a lot of time, effort and money into this course, and it’s starting to really show results. I highly recommend this course for everyone in this area to try.
Course is all dried up / rough condition
We’ve been playing this course about once a month to see if things continue to improve or stay the same. In our opinion, this is by far the worst condition that the course has been in. The course is completely dried up and weeds are starting to set in. No irrigation makes for tough conditions.
Not sure we will be back until next year sometime. Too many other options out there.
More water please!
Like the layout and price is right but with the Sept drought fairways and tees are burnt. I wonder why they don't water and treat them? Crabgrass and weeds are winning the battle. I hate to see a nice course dry up so terribly?
Getting Better
The new owner has sunk a lot of time, money, and work into this place. Building a nice clubhouse, and working on the greens. Fantastic practice range, and a scenic layout is fantastic. Fairways and greens are fair, but do need some work yet. However….this course was in shambles because of disrepair by previous ownership, the. The Memorial Day tornado finished it off-so it will take awhile. I encourage people to play here and support the new owner. He is busting his tail to turn this into a fantastic place to play golf.
Rough
Course is in rough shape, the only decent grass is on the greens, everything else seems to be crab grass. The crab grass is also very brown and burnt in most areas making hitting the ball solid difficult.
The pace of play was amazing, I played alone and kept getting waived through like I was a vip. I played the entire 18 in 2.5 hours and I was taking my time.
The carts are very nice and the staff is professional and friendly. I think I paid 23 bucks total to play, it was worth that price. I'm not in a hurry to go back but I will go check it out earlier in the year in 24.
First timer
Never played Graywolf before. greens and sand traps were well tended.tee boxes were in rough shape. I do like the course layout and will play again.
Nice course
Course in good shape. Yardage is short but greens are difficult
Great course considering damage by tornado.
Course facilities were being rebuilt due to tornado damage. A very pretty course with some difficult holes. I will play again.
