Flat course with no special features
I chose a flat course and made a reservation for my wife's practice.
Good course
First time play here. Received friendly welcome by pro shop staff. Course layout is easy to play except last few with hidden water. Our group was 5-some and group ahead of us is also 5-some. This made place speed slow, on top of it, the group ahead of us seemed no care about play speed. Besides this point, it was very nice and enjoyable course.
Read the USGA rules, people.
I really like this course, but as far as the rules of golf go, it’s anarchy here. In this last round I had someone driving on me as I looked for my ball in the fairway while I was also stuck behind the heroes who couldn’t tee off on a par 5 until the group ahead was on the green. Cart path only on the par threes? No, they drive their carts wherever they want and park within a yard of the green. The coaches of the high school girls convene a conference next to the ninth hole as people are trying to hit onto it. “Our privilege supersedes your desire to play safely.” I will play there again, but I may have to distribute rule books to those in desperate need of them.
Great day of golf
Early start, joined nice group and had a very enjoyable round. Course is in really good shape and pace was great.
Will be back soon!
Wild Wild West
Tee boxes not trimmed. Pace of play was horrible. People parking their carts on the fringe. No Marshall anywhere in site. I won’t return. 1st time it happened I was like that’s a fluke. But for it to happen again? Terrible
I’ll stick to Rio Hondo
Good course, not the greatest experience
Reasonably fun course layout, well kept, and the guys in the pro shop is the best and super friendly. However, this was the worst pace of play I have ever experienced. At our tee time, we still had to wait for 4 groups to tee off. After teeing off 25 minutes late, the front 9 took over an additional 3 hours. Back 9 picked up a bit, but all in all, we did not finish until 6 hours after our initial tee time. This could have been improved a bit, if there was a beverage/snack cart and/or water jugs, but this was not the case.
Pace is slow
It took roughly 3 hours to finish front nine, 3 hours and 45 minutes after 11th hole. Way to slow, it takes every hole waiting and waiting. Perhaps weekday plays might be Ok, but definitively not yesterday which is Sunday.
