Great Golf, bad weather
We only got 9 hole’s because of the weather. Great course.
Still one of the best
I played here several times 20 years ago, moved away and got to play it this week. Still a fantastic course with all the characteristics of a great Ohio course. The greens rolled true and the layout is spectacular.
The only negative is the range and $7.50 they charge for 30 balls. Can't hit driver on the range.
I will definitely be back.
Nice Course, Turn can be frustrating
Love the layout, and conditions are usually excellent. Heavy rains took a bit of a toll.
Could monitor or manage groups stopping at the turn a bit better. We got to 10 and 2 groups were waiting to tee off. One was the group in front of us, the other was a group that stopped for lunch. Not cool. Pace of play had been excellent until that.
19 minute wait. Completely unnecessary.
Maybe a preorder option at the 8th tee?
….or a beverage cart that drives the course and Doesn’t Remain stationary at the cross tee shelter?
Love this course!
Played at 6:15pm off the back nine, didn’t see a single group the entire round. The course is in great shape, great pace of play and I always love coming back here!
Hidden Gem
Fantastic course. Greens will be excellent in another week. Wonderful layout, requires every club. Challenging finishing holes.
Not my first time playing pine hills
This wasn’t my first time playing pine hills by any means. I grew up right next to it and would play dozen rounds there every year. The course has one of my favorite layouts but unfortunately the course conditions have been slowly going down hill. My favorite part about this course is the greens are usually always very firm, fast, and run true. But I’ve been disappointed the past few times I’ve played. They still run true but the speed is the same as any public course now and not what they use to be as far as their condition. They have been struggling with dead spots the past few years. The fairways use to look like carpet but not as lush as they use to be. Still well kept but looked a little dry and scalped. The rough had a lot of weeds and not thick like it use to be. I still love this course and just hope the conditions have gone down hill because they are spending their time on other renovations around the course. Glad to see they are putting money back into the course but I hope they don’t neglect the reasons the course has been loved by locals for years
Just knocking the rust off.
I have played to course for many years. They are in the process of implementing concrete cart paths. It was early in the season - tough to be critical.
Terrible
Green mama were absolutely ridiculous, 70% sand and craters-30 % grass… fairways loaded with divots… they decided it was a great idea to let a 5some start before a 2 some so it took over 3 hours to play 9 holes.
