The Madison Club
About
The Madison Club is a local favorite that is known for its top conditions and challenging layout. It is one of the premier public golf courses in Pittsburgh. You won't find two holes that are alike on this diverse course. It can be especially tough your first time playing since there are several blind shots. The golf course tumbles across rolling, wooded hills, which makes it a hard course to walk but a beautiful one to look at. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, rough, and a variety of elevation changes. The elevated tees offer some scenic respite from the golf course's many challenges. One of The Madison Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th, which begins with a forced carry over water. It is considered one of the best public holes in western Pennsylvania.

Reviews
good challenging course
The course was challenging with a lot of blind shots and dog legs. It was well maintained by the staff and had a great experience.
This course is very open and friendly
Nice open and maintained fairways...large greens...nice track but over priced @ $55! Try to find a coupon or a special price online.
great value
course was in very good shape very fast play at just over 3 hrs for 18 staff helpful and friendly.

Beautiful course........lot's of blind greens though. Challenging but a great course to play.
The course has fantastic scenery and features.
The golf course was a great value, pace of play was good, and the staff was very friendly.
Nice course and nice length
The course was nice. Fairways we manicured very nice. Greens rolled true with a moderate speed. Course can be unforgiving if you are spraying the ball.
Great Course to take a Client or your Father for his Birthday!!
Excellent Course, not a weed on the fairway, greens have nice grooming as well!! Nice carts with everything you need, except GPS. I traveled an hour to get there, BUT I will BE back as I would consider this course one of the best in Westmoreland County. Close to Turnpike also easy breezy ride.
Definitely one of the better courses in West PA....
Course was a little wet due to all the rain we have gotten lately. Cart path only and we still played at around 4 hours. Course is in pretty good shape despite the adverse weather conditions. My only complaint is the #8 Par 3 tee box, it needs to be moved is essential all sand and clay, no grass. All in all this is one of my favorite courses to play in greater pittsburgh area.
Greens needed cut, a lot of blind holes.
course is challenging but greens needed cut so putting was very difficult. There is no drinking water on the course for players so during the round when temps got to 94 it was not fun. A lot of blind holes so unless you knew exactly where you were going it was not easy.
Slowest Round Ever
Played the Madison Club for the first and most likely last time (got a great deal on Golfnow). The course was beautiful - loved the layout and conditions were excellent. Greens were hard, but once I made the adjustment play was fine.
Big problem was course management - our twosome was matched up with a member of the course (nice as a firsttime player). By the 13th hole we were at 5 hours. There was a foursome, two groups ahead of us that was 2 holes behind pace. Due to a some quick thinking on the part of the member, after 13 we jumped ahead and played 17th (an excellent par 3) and 18. While our plan was to circle around and finish 14-16, we never did as it simply was too long a round.
The Madison Club is an excellent course. I have been playing Birsdfoot lately and would say this is a preferred layout. But unfortunately, I would not return due to the complete lack of any rangers on the course. Unbearably long rounds. It's a shame that management doesn't care about the situation. Why do they choose to ignore the feedback of the consumer?
5 hour round
Great layout. No rangers. 3 groups on each par 3 course conditions greens roll decent 7/10. Fairways nice 8.5/10. Rough spotty 6/10. Tees other than #8 8.5/10.
Management not courteous
Course had a couple maintenance issue but nothing that made it awful except for a couple tee boxes. Management does not work with guests and does not work to solve issues. Just says no.
Madison Review
Course is a good buy when purchased on GolfNow. However, the round was very slow. 5 hrs plus. Was in good condition, though and would recommend playing to anyone interested.
Great Course but they seem to have an attitude about Golf Now
This is a really nice course that I enjoy playing but I can't give them a five star rating because they had a negative attitude about my golfnow discounted rate. First if all if you don't like courses that match you up with other people you'd better have a foursome for this one. I went on a wednesday afternoon and the course didn't seem busy. However the starter told me, "If you're going to play with one of those golf now discounts you play at the time we tell you and with who we tell you". Well, I don't mind playing with strangers although I don't prefer it. I was williing to do whatever, but the people they had matched me up with were late. The group ahead of me was long gone when I asked the starter if I could go, and he again told me I had to wait. I have no idea what the big deal was, but I ended up skipping the 18th hole because of a storm that rolled in. Had I been allowed to go when I asked I might have got the whole round in.
Great layout but slow play
The course was in very good shape, although the greens were much slower than the putting green, so it took a few holes to adjust. The layout consists of constantly changing hole types, so that there is varying character to each nine. Played on a Saturday and the round took almost 5 1/2 hours, which was the biggest disappointment. Very good value thru Golf Now.
good conditions, great staff
course was in excellent shape- tees, fairway, rough ,bunkers and greens
could use a ranger to move things along
Looked great, but...
The greens looked awful, but actually putted well.. they obviously have worked on the bunkers in the off season and it shows. They're very nice now. We got behind two 4somes that must've been playing a huge money match for the time they spent on the tees and greens. Pace of play is always an issue here.
This course has some good character.
I have play this course in the past and thought it was ib better condition from the last time I've play it. The putting green was faster than the greens on the course. If I have the chance I will play it again.
super course
very challenging course, looking forward to playing again.
Fun course to play
Course was in great shape. Greens were in good shape for this time of the year. Service was great and staff was very friendly
