Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Alabama
Loved the fairways, soft but not wet. You got what you hit, a little damaging to ones ego A few holes that were definitely risk reward. Will play it again.
As two single women golfers, we are always cautious about trying out a new course. Gulf Shores Golf Club came highly recommend and we are so glad we listened to this advice and played here. The staff from checking in, purchasing drinks, the starters ( especially Ben) were phenomenal. It’s a beautiful course, well groomed, with a well maintained pace of play. An extra bonus is the squirrels who will greet you on certain holes and gladly accept treats. We had a wonderful round of golf, we will return and highly recommend GS Golf Club!
The course was in very good condition and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. I really liked the course and would recommend it to anyone.
Fathers Day Golf
Me and my boys play golf each year for Father's Day. We selected this course and was extremely surprised at the conditions. The course was in excellent condition. Our biggest complaint was it was an extremely hot morning and the water was scariest and the beverage cart was non-existent until 10:30. We started at 7:30 so needless to say we had to go by the club house after 9 and load up. This slowed our pace up a bit but we stayed in our original grouping. Upon arrival, staff was on top of things with clubs and carts. Overall it was well worth the trip to play.
Fantastic course at a great value
A great course to play in Gulf Shores. Outstanding staff, well-maintained course and facilities, and a fun, yet challenging course. Definitely give this course a look if you want a place to play in the Gulf Shores without spending all of your vacation money.
We had a foursome play. Great course, and an even better staff.
We had a great time. Our foursome enjoyed the beautiful course and friendly staff. The price made it a great value as I have paid more for less course.
All around great course
Extremely friendly staff and marshals, excellent greens and fairways. Couldn't ask for a nicer course, especially for a Hot Deal of $42 per person
Excellent pace of play
I play this golf course once in a while and the staff are always been wonderful, always smiling and accommodating. The greenkeepers have done a wonderful job maintaining the greens and fairways. The golf course itself are always a treat for avid golfers and any levels of skills. Best of all the starter knows when it is the best time to go. Some golf course still let you go although they knew that you will have to wait 5 minutes or more in every tee box, which completely take away the fun golfing.
The staff are the best ever
I been playing this golf course at least once a month and every time I played here, the staff have always been accommodating on what I want. The greens and fairways have always been well maintained as well....
Beautiful course in beautiful shape. Greens were impeccable
Should definitely play this course when visiting the Alabama gulf coast. It’s a great course for the money.
Friendly staff. Course is in great shape. My favorite course in the area.
I would have given a 5 star rating on conditions but the had punched the greens 8 days ago but still were running good
Two of us played on a course mostly empty playing in just over 3 hours. I enjoy the layout even though it may seem short on the scorecard. The wind combined with plenty of water and sand on the course make it a fun challenge. My only criticism would be the bumpy, sandy greens that have yet to heal from being aerated a couple of weeks ago. Also, no beverage cart on the course but conditions were pleasant enough that the water stations sufficed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In all, a fun round near the beach.
Really great course, wonderful staff
This is my first time playing golf in the area and I didn't know what to expect. I booked the tee time based on the course rating on Golf Now. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the course!
Played this course and Kiva Dunes. Gulf Shores was a better layout and a better value IMO. Course was in great shape although they are getting ready to plug greens in a couple of days. I thought the layout was excellent playing a Gulf course with mature trees all along the layout. Will definitely play again when I return.
Very nice course
Other than price, I would play here all the time. Excellent course
Good conditions tee to apron.
Pretty good fairway and rough conditions for this early in the year, but greens were rock hard. Wouldn't hold high spinning balls hit with high number clubs or wedges. But, I have always found it hard to adjust to bump and run. Also, range is mats only. Despite those things, the Golfnow hot deal made it a good value and the course is scenic and the layout is fun and has a good playing rhythm. Staff could not be nicer, either. Prices in pro shop are hard to beat anywhere.
