Nice layout with plenty of hazards.
Course in tremendous shape. Awesome sand bunkers and fast true greens. Pleasure to play.
8 Golf Buddies trip
we found the course to be in excellent shape. Great fairways and greens. Greens were very fast and true. Some thought the price was a little steep. But we will come back.
enjoyed the round and course very much. greens were tough to read, all seemed to have a slope or break in contour. complimentary range balls prior to round.
Ben was super friendly and a gentleman. Thank you to the staff for the accommodations and the hospitality. The course was well maintained and the overall experience was gratifying. And ben, I want your hat!!!!
We got rained out on thursday so we had to play the back nine on saturday. They told us on the phone and at the counter that it was ok to tee off on hole ten. After we got the hole half played some old man on a golf cart came out and started yelling at us very disrespectfully. This same guy said it was ok to tee off on this hole not 5 minutes before that.. We had to play the same front nine that we already played 2 days before....we are on vacation and wanted to play holes we never golfed before. Although we werent slowing anyone down they wouldnt let us......they wouldnt let you practice put or use the practice tees either.....they were very rude and disrespectful to us. The course was not very well kept....the had these litle off color patches on the greens that would make your ball go offline. I will never go back here....very unprofession people that act like pompous pricks.....ill take my 100$ elsewhere!
Very nice course
Love the course. Expensive for me, so i don't play as often as i would like. Golfnow comes thru once in awhile so i can play. Course in very good condition so not that its not worth the extra $ overall great course
Very nice staff and starter.
The only two negatives were with being charged $49 instead of the $45 I was offered by golfnow. Even after I pointed this out, she still charged me the higher rate.
Play was good until the back 9, when play was slow due to a flight of 5 drunk men. No sign of the course Marshal on the back 9. This does affect play!
May try them again, but this may occur on a regular basis. If so, take your pick of the many other courses in the area.
Review of Gulf Shores Golf Club
The course was in very good condition. Fairways were good, tee boxes were good, and greens were good, too. Greens were very fast. Maybe the fastest greens that I’ve ever played. The course was very green, but a little brown, too. I saw a gator on the course, which I like. It was out on land by some water. Much water and many sand traps at Gulf Shores. Some traffic on the front nine, but I was able to skip ahead and have great pace on the back nine.
A good place to practice.
Good driving range with mats and many range balls are included on the range.
Good, large practice putting green is near the driving range, and an area where I could practice chipping, sand shots, and pitching is near the green.
Gulf Shores Golf Club is a little expensive. I can play for much cheaper at nearby courses that are very similar. The course is high-quality, though, and the staff is nice.
Gulf Shores Golf Course is a very beautiful course with a well designed layout. The staff is very friendly and really work to keep the pace of play on target. If in the Gulf Shores area take the time to play.
The course was in great shape. Greens very fast. I mean very fast and challenging.
Our complaint was. We got there about 2 hours early. The cart guys said we may be able to get out early. He said talk with the starter. Went in to check in. Mentioned we we're ready to go. Lady looked at T times. We may be able to get you out. She went back to talk to manager. Came back out and said we would have to wait until our t time. Went to driving range. It was 30 min. Before anyone went off. Then a couple groups went off. And another 20 min. Or so before the next. When our t time was close 2 foursomes and a five some was let out. This was a group of regulars playing a match for money. We waited at each hole for the fivesome in front of us. We could have went out 4 or 5 times in the two hours we waited. If it wasn't for golf now I wouldn't pay the rack rate of $79.
Just play it
It was a payable course with some risk reward possibilities. You have to manage the course but not overly so. It's playable and challenging at the same time.
The club house employees are super nice, accommodating and helpful!
This Course a good layout. Very enjoyable.
Course in good shape. Greens a little slow but good.
Enjoy playing courses that give us a break on the green fees.
