Beautiful day for a round of golf!
If you're looking for an old style course (narrow, tree lined fairways and not just grip it and RIP it play) this is a great option. It's challenging and fun, and as the grass grows in as summer approaches, it'll be really nice for the rest of the season. It's worth the drive...full pun intended!
Great Course and Staff
First time using Golf Now to get my tee time. The staff was awesome. The course is well laid out and has some tough holes, Great for beginners and low handicap players. I will play this course a lot.
Good round of golf
Surprisingly, after a lot of rain, the course played very well. Some areas are wet and the ball will not roll out, but it’s in good shape. The greens are the best in the area. Very neat and well maintained. As always, a good outing!
Good experience-as always!
The course was in exceptional condition considering the rains the past few days. There were some areas to avoid otherwise, it was good. The greens are very good!
Barry is the golf pro and he is so awesome. Very friendly and wants to make sure you have a great day. What a special experience.
Colonial is a fun and challenging golf course. Good mix of holes. Some birdie opportunities along with holes that are very challenging. Great staff. Always an enjoyable place to play.
Nice as always
Greens are in very poor condition otherwise good day!
Very straight forward
Being the first time on this course, the layout was good. No real doglegs anywhere. Every hole is fairly straight. Sand traps and water hazards are placed well. My only gripes are the fact that the greens were in very bad shape. Some were perfect, but most were bare, with black patches all over them that looks like a bomb went off. I am guessing it is the fertilizer they are using on them to promote regrowth, but most of the greens smelled awful. Like sewage. Aside from that, there is no markings for where to go without constantly having to look at the scorecard map. Tee boxes aren't marked at all with any indicators. Overall, I will most likely return to this course as I did enjoy my time on it.
Greens Really Needed Work (July)
Colonial is my go-to for a fun and budget-friendly round on a solid course. I played here in July and am about to play again today. During the summer, the greens were very hit-or-miss, with some being in excellent condition (aside from people NOT REPAIRING BALL MARKS) while others were basically unplayable due to excessive brown, dead areas.
Overall, this is a great course for the money. Not usually overcrowded on the weekdays, great rates, and they really do try to make it a great experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would recommend it, but count on giving yourself a couple of strokes on some of these greens!
Great little course
Course is in very good condition. Modest length with lots of mature trees. Greens hold great. (Too bad lots of duffers don’t repair their ballmarks!). Staff is excellent!! Definitely would return if in the area again.
Best condition in years
Aside from many bare spots (mostly off the fairways) around the course, the course is in really good condition. The fairways have filled in and you can now play the ball down vs looking for patches of grass to hit off. If more knuckleheads would repair ball marks, there would be no complaints about the greens- they're moderate speed and will hold a well struck shot.
Barry and staff are the best! If I owned a golf course, I'd ask Barry to manage it for me.
