Nice Course but poorly conditioned

Nice course layout, good price for course but the condition of course was bad and especially the greens. They had bad brown spots, and they punched them and needed cutting and rolling. The fairways where needed cutting, its bad being in the middle of fairway and it'd like rough. Course needs TLC and the greens repaired and it will be a nice course. They need ball washers on the course, one on each nine is not good.

Needs Work

Course is very nice for beginners but needs some attention. Stepped in an ant pile on 2 different holes in the middle of the fairway. Guy in the pro shop was very nice and this course has good potential compared to other BREC offerings. Also if you use GPS this course hasn't been updated into some software

Could be better

The course is ok. The greens are in pretty good condition. More attention needs to be paid to the fairway . Their condition is horrible to say its a brec course. It seems like they pay attention to some courses more than others. That's just my opinion. Other than that I enjoyed the round I had there and will probably go again. Just hope they take the time to improve the quality if the course.

Dumas Course Review

The course has seen it's better days but it is still a challenging course that requires you to hit a variety of shots. The greens we in decent shape but the fairways were really bare and hard. For the value, it's not a bad deal.

Be Prepared

Dumas is very open with little hazards. Great beginner course, but for the cost it is not worth it. The greens have divots, areas of sand, and incredibly slow even when it hasn't rained recently. The fairways have either rough-like grass or no grass at all. The course is longer than other BREC courses, but the conditions are one of the worse. Good deal if you can play 18 with cart under $10.

Go elsewhere

I've played Dumas a few times a year when other courses backed up or needed a break from my usual. This time was the last time. Proshop was extremely rude especially when I mentioned I paid through GolfNow. His comments alone were enough to deter me from ever coming back, but the course was terrible as well. Fairways are basically my backyard the day before I need to cut the grass. Greens are small which isn't bad but they're in terrible condition. I know it's a public course but they were pretty rough. Also, the yardage markers were pretty far off. I hit a 250 yard drive according to my garmin, but if you followed the course markings/card it was around 160yd. Just all around bad experience. I could have handled some of the course issues if it weren't for the staff acting like we were at Augusta and I was the second class citizen coming for a charity round.
