Great value
Love this course. Wish it was a full 18 but the 2 pin placements per green is nice. Conditions weren’t the best but it’s the winter so it’s understandable. During the summer it’s a great course to play without breaking the bank. Fairways could use some work and the bunkers definitely need attention but the greens are great.
Course holds up well to wet weather
Had a bunch of rain early in the day, but the course was still mostly dry. Even the sand was still dryish. JS Clark still remains the best bang for your buck in the Baton Rouge area by a wide margin.
Dry and fast
Biggest issue here is the pace of play. It’s always a cluster at 1 cause of the groups coming off 9 and the groups trying to start. Tee times don’t actually exist or mean anything. Course is extremely dry, lots of dead grass. Greens are like concrete. Layout is decent.
Slooooow
Fun 9 hole course. Long walk if you don’t use a cart. Pace of play was really slow and there was no marshal to let groups know to pick up the pace. No starter either to group people together to make foursomes.
Best kept secret in BR
If perfect greens are what you look for in a golf course, look no further. Avoid the long trip to Beaver, and make a quick trip here and the greens are pretty much the same incredible quality, hardly any blemishes, and roll a true speed all day. Traps and fairways in good shape, they have been watering thru the drought and survived well. Only knock is you have to play the same nine twice, caught a little delay at the turn, maybe space out tee times to accommodate for the morning guys coming around the turn? Overall, great value and great conditions.
Great Course!
They’ve done a great job with this renovation. The course is the best value in BR.
