About
When Timberlane Golf & Recreation opened in 1959 as Timerlane Country Club, it was the first private golf club on the west bank of the Mississippi. The oaks planted at that time have beautifully matured, adding to both the scenery and difficulty of the golf course. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed the course, crafting a challenging test that has been ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in the country. You'll have to contend with 80 strategically placed sand bunkers and 17 different water hazards. While the course is not overly punishing, you'll have to be prepared to have every aspect of your game tested. Before tackling Timberlane''s golf course you may find it helpful to warm up using the club's all-grass driving range and you can use the large putting green to practice with putting, chipping, and sand play.

Great Surprise!
Best condition course in area! Played English Turn & TPC - great names, but not great condition. Wasted money on other courses. Timberlane had good grass tees through greens. Course presented a challenge with layout - especially in a breeze. Staff were great. Great value! Good amenities will only get better since Arnold Palmer Golf Management took over. Planning new carts, renovations on cart paths & course. Greens were true - Bermuda quick down grain & slow into grain. A definite play if in area - you won’t be disappointed.
Friendly Neighborhood Course
Very nice and accommodating staff. Course in good condition with somewhat challenging greens. Support services compromised by 2021 hurricane damage.

Greens and traps
Overall good experience. Found staff to be accommodating and friendly.
Greens had been sanded recently ans a few had surface blemishes. Basic winter conditions. Traps did not seem consistent from hole to hole.
Not Enough Time
Greens were a little sandy. Course was in good shape. Had a foursome in front that wouldn’t let me play through so couldn’t finish all 18. Great course though for the money.
Impressive
Really is impressive to see where this track has come. Kudos to the greens keepers and the staff. Greens are in fantastic shape as well as the turf from where it was a year ago. Keep up the great work!!
