Timberlane Golf & Recreation
About
When Timberlane Golf & Recreation opened in 1959 as Timerlane Country Club, it was the first private golf club on the west bank of the Mississippi. The oaks planted at that time have beautifully matured, adding to both the scenery and difficulty of the golf course. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed the course, crafting a challenging test that has been ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in the country. You'll have to contend with 80 strategically placed sand bunkers and 17 different water hazards. While the course is not overly punishing, you'll have to be prepared to have every aspect of your game tested. Before tackling Timberlane''s golf course you may find it helpful to warm up using the club's all-grass driving range and you can use the large putting green to practice with putting, chipping, and sand play.

Drying out
They playing catch-up from all the rain
It’s in good shape there are some patches on some of the greens
Good value course in Westbank
Played with some buddies. It’s a relaxed environment and well thought out holes. Pretty good course conditions. Greens were in good shape.
Pleasant
I had a nice round of golf here. The course is in a decent condition. Parkland type of course.
The quality of the bunkers is a bit varying, from perfect soft sand to hard with some gravel.
Some water features, with some holes ending in a green over the water.
Part of a complex, Would come back here.
nice course
they need to maintain fairways and greens better. there are a bunch of dead spots....hire someone who has a green thumb
5/31 Timberlane
Overall the play today was great minus the multiple foursomes not observing course etiquette and letting faster players through. Some of the greens have some spots that havent taken new sod and some of the fairways have dead spots. I would, and still plan to play at this course.
Good round
The overall course was in great shape. Some of the greens need work.
Pretty good course for the money
Priced well. Greens and cart paths need major work.
5/17 Timberlane
It was a good course and a good layout for being inside a city. The only downsides i saw were the carts could use a little TLC and the parking situation was less than desirable. There were parking spots that was directly outside the Pro Shop but that was for Members Only and the non-members parking area was nothing special at all.
Improving
Timberlane is coming along. The neighborhood tax put in place to support the club and course seems to have breathed life into this community center on the Westbank. The course overall has seen a dramatic improvement in greens' conditions, owning to better drainage and resodding of troubled patches. The course still has a little ways to go before I'd be willing to give it 5 stars, but for the price it is the best deal in the NOLA area.
Timberlane
The course is in decent shape. The fairways were good. The greens were spotty. Some where in great shape. Some were patchy. Overall a good value at the price I paid. Not that many people out there due to Covid 19 situation. I did ask if we could have 2 carts to limit exposure. Lady behind the desk looked at me like I was a fool. If you have extra carts, which you do, why wouldn't you allow this?
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give Timberlane Country Club another try in the near future.
Double Booked!
This is a course I have played a few times. However, this time there was something different. I accidentally booked a tee time for 4 people instead of 2. I asked the golf course about possibly taking a rain check on the accidental second booking and they said it all goes through the Golf Now app. If anyone reads these reviews, would it be possible to get in touch with the golf course so they can confirm that there was only two people in my gorup and get a refund or rain check for the second booking of two people?
Hello, we appreciate the review. You rated us 3-stars which means there is room to improve on your recent experience at Timberlane Country Club. Let us know, in the comments, how and where you would like to see changes from the course. Thanks for the feedback!
