Unacceptable Pace of Play
If your looking for a 5+ hour round of golf. This is the place to be at. We waited at every tee box for 10-15 minutes on the front nine. Two groups in front of us were hitting multiple tee shots and giving lessons during the entire front 9. I called the clubhouse 2 times and talking to Marshall about this particular group, but they wouldn't improve the groups pace. It took 3 hours for the front 9, then I spoke to the guy in clubhouse, and they said ”I don't know what we could of done, sometimes it happens” This absolutely unacceptable from the staff. The marshal has one job, and he can’t even tell a group to pick up the pace. Luckily that group left after the front and we finished the back in a hour and a half.
I WILL NOT RETURN TO VIEUX, UNBELIEVABLE STAFF. STAFF ONLY CARES ABOUT MAXIMIZING THE AMOUNT OF GOLFERS.
Nice course/unfriendly staff
I get during these unprecedented rules on courses are more strict. It would be helpful if the staff were more friendly at getting across their message instead of being sarcastic and rude.
COURSE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
AT LEAST 5 HOLES WERE CPO AND THE COURSE HAS HAD SEVERAL DAYS TO DRY OUT. GREENS PAINSTAKINGLY SLOW AND BUMPY. OLD MUNICIPAL COURSE WITH NOT A LOT OF CHARACTER. WORTH PLAYING FOR UNDER $25 WITH CART AND EVEN BETTER UNDER $20.
This course should have been closed. It was way too wet and nasty. The back nine was closed so we were only able to play the front. I will avoid playing this course no matter the price. Terrible!!!
Love this course!!!!!!!!!!! My main home course!!!!
Les Vieux Chenes is my home course. It is very well set up and it is great for the average player. I play once a week with my friends and we enjoy playing this course because it offers challenges that may differ each week. The fairways and greens are pretty good and the course itself is well kept. Sometimes, at the 6th hole on a heavy day, you may get a bottle neck because someone wants to try to go for the green, but other than that, the course is a good paced course. We normally play 5 players and finish without any interruptions in 3.75 to 4.15 hours. The staff is very friendly and they all know us well. They take the time to get to know the customers. I am sure everyone will enjoy their play at this course.
Overall, fun course to play that was in very good condition. 90 degree rule made the day go by a little longer, however, definitely understood why it was in effect for the day because of the rain from previous days. Not sure if there are normally a ton of people that walk the course or if it was just a rare occasion on this day but there were a ton out there which slowed down the pace of place. Anyways, I definitely would recommend this course .
Course in great shaoe. Wish they woukd stop allowing groups with more than 4 players, always groups of regulars with 5 or 6 players that cause everybody else to wait. The old fellas that play every day here ruin it for those that are lucky to play once in a while.
Greens in great shape!
It’s was a great golf course just lots of players out there so it was a bit slow. Staff was really friendly!
We had a 12:52 tee time and were not able to tee off at that time. This is unacceptable. We spoke to the Marshall who was rude and allowed other groups to go off before us. I like GolfNow, but really don’t like setting a tee time and tee off about forty minutes later. If this is the way we will be treated, I’ll take my money elsewhere.
Love this Course
This is the 3rd nicest public course in Lafayette Parish (Farm d’Allie and The Wetlands). You can get good deals on golf now for pretty cheap, course has long par 4s and greens are in awesome shape right now. Fairways are great, too.
Ok to play but pace is slow
Staff allowed a group of two to hold up several groups. After calling the pro shop several times they never sent anyone and allowed this one group to slow alot of groups down. The slow group even hit off of hole 10, went back to the club house and cut back in line and was allowed to do so. Not cool.
Good looking course
The fairways and greens are well groomed. The only problem was some of the rough was REALLY rough. I will play again!
Great shape considering the lack of rain.
Course was green and lush considering the lack of rain we have had here. Would definitely play there again.
