I like the course and the location
It seems like everytime I go here they are doing some type of work. I think they were doing construction on 7 or 8 so it was shut down. You would think with that type of work going on the course would be better shape especially being on the coast.
Wide Open Track
Nothing very tricky about this place .. wide fairways and very little trouble should make for an enjoyable round. They're renovating bunkers right now so we had to play a 100-yard makeshift hole instead of the 2nd while they work on that hole. Started on 3 and ended on 1. Decent pace of play although it could have been even faster. Better deal for local residents than out-of-towners as I was.
Slow / Overbooked
They over book this course like crazy. Dawn, the "Starter" is crass. 3.5hrs for the front 9 and we walked off.
Nice Course!
You will need a cart for this course, as the greens and tees are far apart. Course in great condition, greens were great! Sand traps were so-so. Golfnow should mention that work is being done on the course to improve the sand traps and that some of the holes are temporary greens. Would definitely play this course in the future.
Amazing Ocean Views
Encinitas Ranch Golf Course offers spectacular ocean views from multiple vantage points. Situated between million dollar homes and the pacific ocean, the wide open course allows for a lower score than you might be accustomed to. The course is currently under some rehabilitation and they are making progress. Some patience is needed with various turf replacement taking place. All in all, this is a great course for beginners and intermediate's looking to polish up on their game with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
Good for any level golfer
With the 5 tees, anyone can play this course and enjoy it.
A little spotty on some of the fairways, but not enough to really matter.
Love the greens. They don't break as much as they appear to.
Great course but over priced
This course is in pristine shape w/numerous scenic holes. The only downfall of the round was the slow play & the marshall who was giving golf lessons to the slow players, rather than moving them along. The staff was friendly & informative & this is a course that I will play again.
Great condition& Fun to play
I had not played here in many years, but I went back with a friend. The day was great, Friday and no crowds @ 7:20am done in time for lunch. Conditions were excellent, and I was quite impressed with the course. Staff was friendly, and helpful.
Aeration
I had the misfortune of booking a tee time when they were aerating the greens on the back nine, so I had to play the front nine twice. Not a very good deal for $61. They gave me a coupon for a return round for $25, but I am from out of town and won't be able to use it. The greens were very slow, and the fairways and tees weren't in great shape. The course is very forgiving off the tee, and not very long. Play here if you want to put up a good score.
The greens were in excellent condition and challenging
We were not on a golfing holiday but we like to play when we are. The course is only 2 miles from our son's house and has all the facilites you need to play casual golf. We dont bring our own clubs with us and hence the term casual golf. The driving range is also excellent to practise with the borrowed clubs.
Dont play the Crossings unless you have at least 5 1/2 hours of light in the day
Tee time 12.36. Began play 13.00. Finished 15 holes at 17.10 due to slow play by a group in front of us who lost 2 holes. Ranger seemed unconcerned.
need to get rid of bird dropings on 17
ok not to difficult conditions good speed of play ok
Fairways beat up, slow greens.
NOT YOUR FATHER'S ENCINITAS RANCH!! Fairways chewed up, lot of brown spots. Many unplayable lies in the fairways, due to lack of grass. Condition of the not even close to the price they charge. Expected more!!
Simply Not Worth the Trip
If you’re a non-resident, forget playing this course. It is absolutely one of the biggest ripoffs in Southern California. If you’re a resident, the green fees are not that great either. We paid $90, which is obscene given the conditions of this track. The course needs some intense renovation. Too many dead spots, muddy spots, divots, the course is just not maintained at all. It’s a shame considering it has potential. The layout is good and is a decent test of golf skills. The views are nice as well. It just needs a lot of TLC. Until conditions improve drastically, the course simply is not worth playing.
Nice layout, has all of the facilities, fairway in poor condition
This course has great views and offers a variety of playing challenges. Friendly staff and all of the facilities (range, putting, chipping, good eats, etc.), but the biggest draw back are the fairways. They are in poor condition and look like they have been bad for some time. Greens in good shape.
I felt this course was overpriced.
Enjoyed playing this course but felt it was priced too high compared to other courses within the area.
Great Courses!
I played with my friends on 6:40 am, and all staffs are very friendly even in the early morning.
Well maintained, beautiful courses, and moderated difficulties.
After the game, we ate the "Western Burgers" at the snack bar and it was one of the best burgers I ever ate.
No Frustration Golf
Course well maintained; unfortunately, players do not repair their divots or ball marks on greens. Play is pretty straight forward; just hit it straight. A 4.5 hour play time is reasonable for a foursome playing from tees recommended based upon handicap. Unfortunately, the limited distant markers were not always visible from the fairway and sprinkler heads are not marked. All this being said, my wife and I enjoyed the play and will return; with our Golf Buddy.
Good, but overpriced
An average course with a little less skill, some holes are nice designed, overpriced, 60 $ would be enough
Does he mean The Crossings or Encinitas Ranch? Either he misspoke or he's reviewing the wrong course.
