Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Past it’s prime
I’m sure this course is better once the grass has greened up during the spring and summer but the facilities in the pro shop and clubhouse are old and the course does not drain well on certain holes. The man at the front counter was very friendly and courteous. After the round the snack bar was closed at 2:30 and there was no place to even get water.
Great course
Couldn't have been happier with round. Everything was in great shape and all was good!
Course slowly declining from what it was or even should be
Course really is on a slow decline. Usually play here like every 3 months or so and over the last few years it is on a disappointing path. Had a friend with me yesterday who had not been here in like 2 years, he had the same opinion of what conditions the course USED to be and was not impressed. I sure hope it changes this pattern quickly. Tee boxes - greens and bunkers are all involved in what I’m saying. Gentlemen in the pro shop said he had only been there a couple weeks was extremely nice. Doubt I’ll go back until next spring but I’ll give it another try but hopefully a mindset has changed. Sad to see over the last couple years - sorry to post but hopefully it strikes the right note and improvements that are needed are made. Good luck
The course is a pretty decent course. The tee boxes and fairways need some TLC. But overall not bad at all
Good course!
We have had played this course many years. The rain and some lack of attention on the maintenance side kind of lower the quality of the course as we were used to. still enjoyed.
HD not played in a few years. Enjoyed the course. Course was in pretty good shape. Sand traps need some work
Might want to wait
Cobbs Glen was not in great shape. We had heavy rain 2 days prior, but that did not impact us as we expected some casual water, etc. What we did not expect was extremely poor greens and even less expected someone to set the holes amongst the black and dying spots in the greens. There were good areas in the greens, but few holes were cut there. I asked a member on the practice green about the condition of the course and he said the owner is trying to sell the course and has stopped caring about the grounds. You might want to wait for a new owner to step and start making improvements before playing here.
Bad Greens
I played this course in high school back in the 80's . At that time Cobbs Glen was an absolute great course. Fast foward to 2023 and the course has went down fast. I'm not sure what has happened to the greens but basically they are dirt. The Carr paths needs work tee boxes are in bad shape. Come on Cobbs Glen get your luster back.
