First they tried to charge my elderly father, who I am visiting, $20 to ride along with me even though he is in too poor of health to play because they didn’t have enough carts - I ended up being in a 3some and we all had carts. The greens were some of the longest, slowest, and most damaged I have ever seen. Tee boxes were rough, fairways had standing water on most holes (I lost 2 balls in fairways due to plugs). I got a decent deal to play here but I’ve played on better municipal courses for $10. Save your money.

The course began the year in less than ideal condition. Greens were poor and fairways were sparse. The course is now in a state of transition and is getting back in shape.
The greens are a priority and getting much better. The fairways are lush and also much better. All in all the course should be there best in a few more weeks. The course layout is good for all levels of play and The staff is friendly and helpful.
Play here three times a week and always fun to play.

The course needs a great deal of work.
First many of the greens were not very good, man were just sandy.
The sand traps did not have any sand in them.
Someone had cut the grass when it was high so there was a great deal of grass on the fairways

Davis Love would be embarrassed his name is attached to this course. Greens unputtable. More crabgrass than Bermuda everywhere. I never did a bad review before, but had to this time. Only about 12 people on whole course so pace was great. Not a $50 golf course.

Course lay out is good. Greens needs some serious attention. Pace of play is decent.

Ok, so I don’t want to mirror a bunch of other reviews. The frustrations for folks is accurate. The greens are really inconsistent and often in rough shape. Many have spots that lack grass, but honestly there are numerous pin positions available where the bad spots can be largely avoided. That being said, the grass in the green is too long and therefore makes putting not only difficult but also a huge deviation from other places you’d play. I assume the truth is they can’t afford to lose the grass they have. I play a lot and know that the greens make the difference. The green complexes have variety and tons of potential. Fairways were in good shape and the tees were not an issue, albeit too fuzzy. For less than $40 you have a challenging layout, largely house free experience and a chance to work on multiple parts of your game. I was here on vacation and expect expensive golf fees, heck it’s Hilton Head island area for crying out loud. I had fun. The staff was excellent and accommodated an additional 9 holes for me. They have a range and a short game area which is really nice. In closing, they certainly have a lot of work to do on the greens (and bunkers). Just need to be fair … they have a good bit to offer as well. I hope they get things figured out!

The course was good for the price .Greens are very spotty and the sand traps are missing sand .The fairways had just been cut but we’re in great shape as well as tee boxes . We are average to high handicap golfers and had a great time. If
I live across from the Augusta National and was not expecting AGNC conditions so for the price we paid we were very satisfied except for the areas listed that needs maintenance.Storms rolled in with Thunder and lightning on sixteen and they sounded the horns.
We got to our car before the bottom fell out .

Course is not maintained at all. Greens are not in good shape. Tee boxes are like teeing up in the rough.

Greens were in terrible shape. Plus behind a senior ladies league that wasn’t ready to go half the time

Greens were not good. Most were very furry and others had bad patches all over the greens. If you can find another course then you should.

The cart guy was a rude jerk. The first person you see, and he's a grump a##. Hard to keep customers around if you can't be friendly.

The course greens were horrendous!!! Golf Mecca of the world and the worse condition greens have ever played and I have played 1000's of rounds of golf all over the country. Many greens had less than 50% grass and the rest was sand. Cart paths need some serious repairs in places - like off-roading.

Pace of play was great because no one else on the course (should have been our first clue)

The practice range grass was at least a foot tall so you never saw a ball hit the ground. Had played here a year prior and was not the greatest course but decent. Now will never return. Recommend you play anywhere else

This used to be one of my favorite courses 10 years ago. I came back to Hilton Head and expected the same. It’s in awful shape. The greens are gone. I don’t think the grass has been cut in weeks.

The greens had just been aerated which is fine but the issue is there’s almost no grass on them. We quit after 9 holes because it was so bad.

I played this course over a decade ago and the layout was great and the course was beautiful.

Made a trip back and this is probably the most neglected course I have played in years. I have played goat farm courses in better condition.

Davis Love should ask them to remove his name from it. The greens are sand. The fairways are cut with an off balanced blade and not done with proper overlap.

All the bunkers have grass and weeds and some of the bunkers have been let go and the grass has converted them completely. If unloved there I would be furious.
