Eagles Point Review

They are still working on the greens. Several need work but overall the rest of the greens and course are in good condition. Friendly staff, including restaurant all make playing there a pleasure. We played with a party of 3 yesterday and still have been able to play every round under 4 hours making the day a pleasure. Will be back next week for another round.

Enjoyed the day

First thing noticeable was the unfortunate conditions of the greens. Apparently lots of winter kill which will hopefully come back. Remainder of the course (tees, fairways, rough) were in very good shape. Some traps were under water but they had a downpour the night before. I had experienced the snack bar in previous visits and it was good. Unfortunately closed this time so we couldn't sample it again.Always enjoy Eagle's Pointe and will definitely play again.

Greens are suffering

Live here, play here at least once every 2 months. Lost some of the greens during winter so about 40% of greens not very good. Just punched about 2 weeks ago. I understand things happen to course but tell me before I pay and go out.

Staff

Severe rain with wind, thunder and lightning but had to fight tooth and nail for a nine hole rain check after completing seven holes. (paid for 18)

Horrible shape

Played several times 5 years ago and the course was pristine. Now the greens are literally unp. All diseases and they bounce all the way towards the hole. Staff is great and the clubhouse is beautiful. Very disappointing

Disappointed

We played this course a few years ago and were so looking forward to playing it again but what a disappointment. The condition of at least 6 greens were actually unplayable. There wasn't even enough grass on them to call it a green. The others were rough and slow. Several tee boxes were bare, multiple sand traps were actually water hazards and a good portion of the ground was either too wet to drive on or, in some cases, dead and brown. Not many people on the course on a beautiful day. Now we know why. It was a waste of money and the course should be taken off GolfNow until it gets proper golf course maintenance.

Requires serious maintenance

Good design but the fairways and greens were in very bad shape. I lost two balls in sand traps because the water was too deep.

Great enjoyable round

Played 18 holes. Course and greens in very good condition (bunkers not do much). Round on 4 hours with no backed up groups. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Only $37 with a Hot Deal. Will plan to play again this trip.

Expected more for the money!!!!

The course restaurant/bar had limited items and was completely closed when we made the turn. The greens were in terrible shape - Top surface was made up of mostly dirt patches, moss and sporadic tufts of grass which made the ability for a true putt impossible. Save your money and find another place to play!!

greens a bit behind average.

Beautiful layout. Fair at the white T box. Several of the bunkers were still holding winter water. Several greens were still in winter mode and not growing. Played two other courses earlier than this and both of them had far better greens. Price should reflect the course still in winter mode. Fairways were good. Greenside turf was also spotty. I would like to replay tn a few weeks if conditions improved there. Lots of wildlife, gators and large birds, and eagles.

Enjoy the layout

Eagle’s Pointe has a very good layout. We enjoy the variety and challenges of each hole.
The course needs some rain/water. Tee boxes were hard, fairways thin and some greens in poor condition.
Will definitely return.

Avoid until greens are better

The course should be avoided until the greens grow in. The course layout is fine and would have enjoyed the round had the conditions of the greens been better.

Relaxing, charming course

A delight to play. Fairly easy and straight forward, off island in the tall pines. Lovely change of pace and relaxing to play after playing the more challenging Sea Pines courses, Golden Bear and Old South. Greens putted true also, though grass coming back in some spots, so we ended up with great scores.. Very good value for the money. Definitely will play again.

Less than full disclosire

Started playing this course in the 90's and usually found it in pretty good shape. Admittedly the weather patterns in the area have changed over time wet weather has hung on at times, so greens that are "painted" with fertilizer to give some look of grass is not unusual. The tees, fairways, and rough were very acceptable for this time of year. I was disappointed that there was not full disclosure about the conditions of the greens. It's hard to hold good shots into a dirt green or put through patches of dirt, tufts of weed and some remnant of grass.
