Course is in pretty good condition for this time of year...some repair spots on green and uneven sanding.
Pace of play on front nine was VERY slow due to a foursome of ladies who would not let our twosome play through even though they were at least two holes behind the group in front of them...and no marshall on the course so we spent a lot of time waiting on the tee boxes hoping the ladies would wave us through...but alas...no.
Fortunately the ladies retired after nine holes and we flew around the back nine...so we had that goin for us...which was nice.
Great layout, but needs to dry out from the winter
Eagle’s Pointe is a great layout, with the front nine being tighter and more demanding than the back which is more open, but with more water hazards. Full range available for a good warmup. Practice green matched the course conditions.
Staff at the club is always friendly and helpful. Normal rates for the course are very good by area standards.
The only downside with the round today were the course conditions, especially on the front . It has been a very wet winter, and the course has not dried out. A number of the greens on the front nine actually looked like they had flooded , and there was no grass (but they were green from being prepped.
Very playable course, with many greens guarded by bunkers , so putting yourself into position for the approach is key.
Definitely playing it again, but checking on how wet it is before going.
Great course but before the season
Fairways very sparse during this time of year. Have played it during regular seasonal play and has always been well groomed, plush fairways, quick manicured greens. Highly recommend just not so much during pre- season.
Course is fun to play for anyone. Can be wet at times but was in good shape today. Good value staff very friendly.
The tee boxes had divots. The fairways were either soaking wet or dirt brown. Fairway mowers had left deep ruts in some. The greens, all of which had been coated in a fine layer of sand, were slow and uneven. And the sand in all but 2 or 3 bunkers had the consistency of cold grits. I suspect the staff -- who blamed it all on rain -- had been fielding complaints for some time and therefore weren't in particularly good moods. The truth is, it hadn't rained THAT much over the past several days. All of this was surprising to me because I had played here a number of years ago and it was fine. With so many other options in the area, this course should be avoided until these issues are fixed.
Day at Eagle's Point
Love's layout is very good. However, drainage is a serious problem. Fairways are very thin. Very little grass on many. The reality is, this course should close, correct drainage problems and grow some grass. Really fun potential here.I will not be back till it happens.
Not in good shape
I should have known that it was cart path only on the front side. I wouldn’t have played there. Also, they redressed all the greens and they were slow. If I had visited the course first, I definitely would not have played.
Can’t help the weather
This was the wettest course we played the days we were in Hilton head . In my opinion it should have been closed . I’m sure open for the Community members . Tree lined fairways so straight is long
Ok, very wet
Cart Path only, wet , bunkers full of water. Nice course but would stay away after rain.
Wet and more wet
Staff was excellent and friendly. Course was not in good shape. Water in all sand traps, not a little, a lot of water. Fairways were muddy with little to no grass. Best play was to end up in the rough so there was some cushion under the ball. Just played 2 days at Hilton Head Island courses and there was no problem with water. Apparently drainage conditions in Blufton are not the same. Always call ahead to check conditions if you want to play in Blufton. Course excluding today’s condition is average but challenging.
Well layed out
Played this and loved the friendliness and fairness of the course from the blue tees. Overall nice track and it was a little wet as the season has been quite damp. A few tee boxes were in bad shape, yet most greens were nice and rolled true. This course must be a beauty when in perfect shape.
First time I have played in two years. Course conditions have improved nicely.
We arrived to a non informative man who got us our carts and was also the starter. He was not welcoming or friendly. Too bad for this course, as the rest of the day was lovely. Course was in good condition, and was very pretty. Slow pace of play, however. Having been to 2 sensational courses the days before, it was hard for this one to hold up to those standards.
Great weather - great pace
Staff was very professional and helpful. A few of the greens had spots around the edges that were bare, but overall the greens were in good shape. The rest of the course was good.
It had been a couple of years since we had played Eagle's Pointe. Course was in decent shape and presents a challenging test of golf. Utilizing Golf Now definitely provides value for the dollars paid to play here, I would recommend this course to all.
