About
Sprawling across 300 acres of lush, Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has gained a reputation as being one of the area's best public courses. The course was a collaboration between Gary Player and Bobby Weed, who each designed a nine. Weed designed the front nine with the intention of creating a complement to the Player-designed back nine rather than making them too similar. He included larger greens with more dramatic undulations. The signature hole is the tricky sixth, which features the largest lake on the golf course bordering its entire right side and deep pot bunkers along the greensides. The back nine has many challenging holes as well, including the course's number one handicap hole, the par-5 seventh. It is the ninth that might be Hilton Head National's toughest though, with a deep marsh along the right side of a narrow fairway.

Awesome place!
We loved everything about Hilton Head National. The place is awesome.
My favorite local course in Bluffton.
My favorite course in Bluffton. Great value for a Bluffton resident. Feels like my own country club. A great challenge and yet fair for all golf levels. Fair of the tee the casual golfer. Challenging for the advanced golfer. The weather has been extremely hot these past few weeks and I'm sure the greenkeepers have some sleepless nights. They still run so through despite the stress. It's a must if you are vacationing in the Lowcountry.

Great Round
Course in great shape as usual. Twosome teed off at 1:30 and finished at 4:30. Only complaint is they don’t cut locals a break. Live across street and only play a couple times a year.

Great course for the money!
Super friendly staff paired with a great course. I booked a golf now deal during the afternoon. There wasn’t a whole lot of people out there due to heat which made the pace of play all the more better. I will definitely visit this course again next summer.

Fun layout. Good condition. No houses
Very enjoyable round at Hilton Head National. Staff was cordial,driving range was excellent and the round went smoothly. Overall, I enjoyed HHN layout and found that the lack of homes surrounding the course refreshing. So may of the courses at HHI have houses on both side of the fairway but the National is devoid of homes. The layout is fun and not overly demanding especially on the first nine. Towards the end of the round the holes are a little tighter and more demanding. Watch out for the finishing hole cause you can run out of room up the right side which is what happened to my son and son-in-law. Also the last par 5, you better go for the green or lay way back. A 200 year old live oak guards the left side of the approach to the green. The fairways were in nice shape and the greens were fairly smooth without a lot of grain. Would return to play again

Great condition
The course was in great shape. Absolutely wonderful conditions. However for the price you pay there should be more. Range balls are $7.50 for a very small bag, for the price of the round I feel like that's really high. No coolers on carts or available at all, you can get a bag of ice with no where to put it. We saw a cart girl twice in 18 holes. The course itself is worth the money the amenities are very sub par for the price you pay.

Excellent round
Greens were in great shape, fairways nice and very fair course. Quiet in area that was not intertwined with houses and traffic. Lot of sand, but in fair locations that if hitting well, we’re not in play. Fun day and will play again yearly.
